my main observation is that fodder is completely wasted as a false 9. put him 30 yards deeper and he'll cut anyone to ribbons with his passing. is that Haaland boy modelling a blue shirt yet? wink

Hardly needed to break out into a sweat, the gulf between City and United is huge.

I like Ole, he is a nice guy, but just not up to the job, but United's defence is shocking.

Pep would sort them out in a couple of months.

Only if Pep was also given half a billion to spend on defenders.

I disagree. Pep is a very good coach and can turn average players into very good ones. In some ways it is harder working with multi millionaire megastars with their Ferraris and egos, they have to respect the manager and I don't think Ole commands any at OT.
I'm sure Pep could get Accrington Stanley in the premier league given time.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

He's never gone to an average team and lifted them, he's always gone where he's had resources to buy largely ready made stars, or at least those players with the very best potential.

In fact I can't think of many players who have left City and subsequently become quite average again.

Don't get me wrong, I think he does definitely help to improve players, largely through improving their footballing intelligence. But not to the extent of taking stones and turning them into diamond, but taking slightly rough diamonds and just smoothing off the rough edges.

What average players has he turned into very good ones ?
It seems to me if a player is t up to it he just buys someone who is ,and he only takes on jobs where the team is already the best in the league .
Hes a brilliant manager but a brilliant manager of brilliant players ,he couldn’t do what klopp has done .

I'm convinced if Pep took over United tomorrow they would be in the top three at the end of the season, not hovering around the top ten which is where they will probably end up.

Klopp hardly inherited a bunch of no hopers, but I agree he is a fantastic manager.

Which team do you think that Utd squad is knocking out of the top three? Given that Pep would have few players with the legs or brains to press well from that Utd team.

Also baring in mind that Peps first season with City (16/17), City finished third in what was quite a poor season with few decent teams.

Just for reference, Liverpool's first line up under Klopp.

The bench was Adam Bogdan, Kolo Toure, Jerome Sinclair, Joao Carlos Texiera and Connor Randall.

Serious question, was that a 0-0 draw?

I think so - it seems like a lifetime ago doesn't it?

Doesn’t seem unreasonable but how is that measured? Almost impossible to measure improvement of a squad or achievement v budget/resources.

That said I have no issue with Pep being top, I like the football he plays and the way he conducts himself. Yes he is always had big budgets and good squads but that is hardly his fault.

Was he Covid vaccinnated? ....cardiac arrhythmia.....retiring now on doctors orders I assume?

Wise decision anyway, considering what happened to Eriksen for eg.

What's the covid vaccination got to do with anything?
