Our new stadium is going to be superb.
The Olympic Stadium, however, with it's quality retractable seating (held together with cable ties and levelled up on concrete blocks!).....![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)

A friend of mine works at the Olympic stadium at a relatively high level. (No, not in the upper tier) About 6 months ago he told me that theretractable seats were an unmitigated disaster. The Olympic Stadium, however, with it's quality retractable seating (held together with cable ties and levelled up on concrete blocks!).....

Fair enough...what do you think would be a fee worth taking a punt for? I'd be in the 10-15m max bracket.
10-15m gets you bugger all now the tv deal has come in. £18m just got us a striker thats been good at football for 4months.No reason whatsovever that we shouldnt be spending proper money.
Weve made a good start to the transfer window improving the squad, we need to improve the first team though and we wont do that for £10m.
Players of his age (and just turning international) need to play every week. Otherwise he would've been far better of at PSV or Ajax.
Typical EPL way thinking by the way, spend too much, and spend even more on a "name". And with Mata you know exactly what you get, a relatively mediocre midfielder; technical yes, but not a lot of pace, not very creative, doesn't score that much and who couldn't quite make it at both Chelsea and ManU but does command a high wage.
Tottenham didn't compete for the EPL title this past season by spending money on (so called) big('ish) names, but by investing in (technically) skilled players for a number of years now.
Speaking of first team improvements, said it before theirs a chap called Hakim Ziyech at Fc Twente, best player of Eredivisie last season, expected price £10m to £15m. Pacey and very technical, about twice as good as Mata in every direction.
Eriksen, Dembele and Chadli all came from the Eredivisie prior to going to Tottenham, more impressed with Ziyech so far. He would fit right in.

He sounds like a Polish beer
Don't know, never heard Polish beers speak, but maybe that changes after having two dozen of them ![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
He has a Dutch and Moroccan passport and a bit of an attitude. After having to wait too long to his liking for being selected for the Dutch National team and openly criticizing the Dutch national coach for it, he choose to play for the Moroccan team.
Interesting to see where he'll end up.
