Surely if it were Zidane or Conte they would just take over now?
Because they've signed a contract agreeing to start on date X, not date Y?

They currently have commercial commitments?

They currently have personal commitments?

Contract issues with previous employers preventing them starting now?

They don't want it to appear that they have already agreed to replace Jose (which it would if he's suddenly been fired and then next day Zidane walks through the door...)

Maybe there is something in Jose's contract also?

Many reasons.

I still find it difficult to believe that they have chopped in Jose without anyone definitely confirmed to take over in the summer. They've had a very long time to decide Jose isn't working and look for a successor. I just don't believe that they will only now start working through a wishlist, and risk getting to the summer still without anyone lined up. Seems a massive, massive gamble.

Trying to get this thread vaguely back on topic, anyone have any thoughts for tonight's game?

For some reason I have the feeling we are going to tonk them.

A good opportunity to enact some revenge quite soon after the last game. Team selection could be interesting sounds like Kane is out, Dier out.

I think you'll get through, win the semi and you'll get beat in the final....yet again.

Pochettino: "I'm happy here in Tottenham and I have four-and-a-half years left on my contract. I understand you're interested because there are a lot of rumours but look, I'm happy here, trying to give my best to the club."... "The most important thing is to enjoy the journey. We're so happy here."
Another few quotes from him:

"I am happy here of course"

"We are in the middle of our new project. I am fully committed to the staff, the players, the club and it would make no sense to leave in the middle of our path"

“I have a contract and a responsibility to Tottenham.”

(Apart from those quotes are actually in 2014 and I replaced Southampton with Tottenham.)

It's the same as Phil Countinho and us for example. Phil said similar, and we thought he was decent and wouldn't try and force a move. When it comes to it quotes mean very little, so it's just a case of seeing if United come in for him in summer and he/Levy accepts it. No point in getting worried as not much you can do apart from show your support in games.
Youre being a bit disingenuous again (what's happened to you recently?) The thing that tipped him over the edge was the sacking of his firend Cortez. Thats why he left.
He is winding us up. smile
