I see SAF is going to play a key role in finding his successors successor. I can see why, I mean he did a grand job first time round didn't he?
Can anyone explain to me why Jose wasn't given the job? I get that he isn't known for open, expansive football, but neither was Moyes. Does anyone think you'd be where you are today if Jose was the manager?
So, why did SAF rule out Jose? Protecting his legacy?

Charlton didn't approve of Jose's style, off the pitch rather than on it. He still has significant influence. Can anyone explain to me why Jose wasn't given the job? I feel sorry for the Liverpool fans. Waiting all these years to win the Premier league, and knowing, in the back of their minds, that they only win it because of the turmoil at United... they never get to win it with SAF in charge.
Must be an empty feeling, deep inside.....
I did type out a long reply, but then just thought...Must be an empty feeling, deep inside.....
No, no deep empty feelings here, just joy, deep, deep joy at everything this season has brought.
and continues to bring.
In any case, this is the most positive thing to happen at Old Trafford in the last season. I'd imagine all the other Premier League team supporters feel a little uneasy that Moyes has gone.

Hmmmmm.........................................................Moyes’ situation has strong parallels with Steve McClaren’s short, unhappy spell as England manager.
Both men were appointed ahead of better qualified candidates. Both appeared to be well out of their depth and struggled badly in their new roles from the outset. Both failed to achieve the minimum level of success acceptable to their employer (McClaren failed to qualify for Euro 2008, Moyes failed to qualify for the Champions League) and both were sacked immediately after this failure.
I hope Moyes manages to re-build his career and reputation in the way McClaren has.

Certain I got it right. I'm wfh and have Sky Sports News on, listened to it while eating my lunch.
Fair enough, they are certainly swimming against the tide with that one though. I dont think he will have any involvement, he is off to teach at Harvard in May as well so will probably be seen about less alsoselym said:
There are two ways of looking at this. It could be said that for all the domination of the last two decades, at the end of this season Man utd could be only one league win ahead of Liverpool and two European Cups behind.
What's your point? Liverpool dominated the 70s and 80s much like United did the past 20 years. Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
