Regardless of the side we selected. The outcome was all too familiar with seasons gone by;

Slow to start, horrifically exposed at the back, improved in the game in the second half when it was too late. We've seen it over and over again.

The situation with Giroud was embarrassing as were Wengers protestations on the touch line. Then we have the situation with Perez today which doesn't do the club any good either.

We need a couple more quality players before the start of the season not at midnight on transfer deadline day when we've already lost a couple of games in the league.

I've always believed transfer business should be concluded before the start of the season to enable new players to familiarise themselves with their new club, teammates, expectations, pattern of play and tactics. However, the bigger issues for me are the ones I highlighted at the beginning of this post.

exactly. And a second string keeper. I agree with Alfa on the Alexis thing though, if he is going to piss about, get rid and IF we spend the cash on some decent talent, it would be the best way to go.
I think so. We can't allow Alexis to become a distraction. If he tells Wenger he wants to leave I want it done quickly not drag on. We've had this before with Nasri, Van Persie, Fabregas et al.

It was a friendly... in Beijing... Chelsea - other than the front man - were full strength. We had a back line of Naitland-Miles, BFG and Nacho.
And the team was substituted pretty much en masse at half time with Chelsea's team playing through to 70 mins or so.

On the subject of the squad/new signings it's got to be CM we need to reinforce with some suggestions that Lemar is possibly earmarked as a Santi replacement.

When you look at our CM cupboard it looks very sparse when you're talking Top 4 quality....

Xhaka - only seems to work with Ramsey with three at the back
Ramsey - as above re Xhaka
Cazorla - out for the season
Coquelin - not Top 4 quality unless he's alongside Santi
Elneney - Rumours he's off and only started a few games last year anyway
Wilshere - We all know the story....
Maitland-Niles - Europa/ League Cup
Reine-Adelaide - Europa/League Cup

Rumblings Madrid have got Mbappe. Another to add to the list of Wengers "we could have signed"... but failed.

To be fair to Wenger and Arsenal, you were only ever in with a shot if Mbappe decided he didn't want to go to Real this summer.

Looking less and less likely now!

Guunerblog makes a good point that CM is the area we need strengthened now way more than any sort of attacking option (+/- Sanchez of course..)

Mbappe was never going to happen either, especially as Wenger is gone in 2 years so there are no promises there AND we were never going to go to 100m for him.

Been a good game, 5-2 so far. Good to see a few youngsters getting some game time, Reece Nelson looks a good find.

I would sell Ox and play Nelson based on that performance

Nelson looked very good didn't he. Think some of the coverage is getting a bit carried away though....lots can go wrong even at 17. I remember a couple of years ago Gideon Zelalem was getting all the plaudits after an Asian tour....his career has gone nowhere since. Let's hope Nelson is the real deal.

I went yesterday and Ox was by far our best player once he was moved across to the Right Flank in the second half..Bellerin played there in the first half....and got into some great positions but wasn't sharp which you could say about the rest of the team. Good day out for my son and a couple of his mates but not much to get excited about on the pitch!

Yeah, it's incredible that. What an absolute stbag, quite frankly the world would be better off if the endangered animals were allowed to hunt him. I'd watch that.

Hopefully the Arsenal fans will vote with their wallets and let him know what they think of him during matches (if he even watches them).

Bet Gunnersaurus is bricking it, too.

just when you think it was impossible to hate him any more - he goes and does stuff like this. Hopefully we can use this as ammunition against him being involved in the club.

I think your last point is right.....just read something on Twitter aboput Emirates being rather unhappy about it. They appear to be actively involved in Animal conservation

Frankly what goes on at a football pitch is totally irrelevant compared to conservation of these amazing animals but if things like this make a change to society's view of hunting and as a side effect we get rid of Kronke all the better.

Would love to see Emirates immediately withdraw their support and sponsorship of the club over this, might be just the thing to push Kronke into selling up......

(one can hope)

I agree - the ground swell of animal activists activities should be employed to force his hand on this. We are a brand and we need nothing that will discourage people from supporting the club.

And get rid of this gob-ste is a bonus.
