Improvements for next year? - Sort out the defence, I feel if they tidied that up the rest would thrive

Target - Top 12 would be happy, EPL is at such a high level with the top 10 teams, but I feel like on our day we could give any of them a good go.

Another two points relinquished but safety at this stage is all that matters. Hopefully by next season the manager can build and improve.

On the plus side...we don't have to worry about Liverpool buying the better players this year! Doubt they'll want them!

Redmond is the only one I am worried about losing. Without him on the pitch we seem to lack that push forward and a bit of creativity.

We’ve signed Ings for £20m and Che Adams as well. Not sold that Ings is a good deal but hopeful for Adams. Nice to get some business done early in the transfer window

If we can now sign a decent CB then I'm hopeful for next season with Ralph at the wheel

Which CB options are there given the prices in the market today? I’m guessing we need to pay £20m and that gives you no guarantees

Still not sure about Ings, but I think if we can sort out the defence then it will give the rest of the team more opportunity to play and therefore create chances for him.

It's a done deal. £11M.

As above, done deal at £11m plus up to £6m in add-ons.

Shame to see another Academy product leave the club but, without dismissing the effort Targett gave to Saints during his time here, that's a crazy price Villa have paid for someone who would likely have been a 3rd choice FB next season.

I think it's his loan at Fullham a season or so back and his displays for us that sealed it tbh. he's been a lot better since that fullham loan, good luck to him I say, dont know what's going on with McQueen though.

My mate's godson was the under-23 captain last season and he's left for Gillingham today on a season long loan (Alfie Jones)

Will be a very decent player one day, I think Saints rate him otherwise he'd be gone for good.

Is top 10 optimistic?

Yes, very, I'd say! Really need a goal scoring machine.

Top 15 would be good from what I have seen of the signings and those leaving. I think we are in need of creativity and a centre back to shore things up.
Would love to see 1-2 of the youngsters really take their chance and cement a starting place

Yep - bottom 5 more realistic- no money and need to move on a few players
