Injury was just Lanzini twisting and falling in light training. Crazy. Off to see some specialist in Barcelona soon.

Also looks like Fabianski in Adrian out?

Apparently no compensation for Lanzini injury absence...
Where did you get that info from?

Sounds outrageous.

Was scouring the internet gossip columns and a few articles popped up. Apparently most players are not insured on international duty nowadays which seems as you say, outrageous.

As for compensation for Lanzini, my understanding would be that insurers would pick up the tab for their salaries? Or are the players paid such vast amounts these days that insurers have run a mile now, you couldn't blame them if they did really?

That's what I read, that insurers wont touch them now as the costs of re-reimbursement is so substantial (would run to millions for just a few weeks out for some top players)

I hope we get something - I can already see this being a massive blow not only to the team but our transfer policy. Blowing most of our cash on a replacement so in effect not moving the team forwards at all in the short-medium term.

Yes, we just seem fated.

Interesting comment on the Hammers blog saying that Zaba may move into a central defensive role and put Fredericks out wide.

With Lanzini out, I was wondering if dropping Arnie back into the 10 position and Hernandez up front might work if we plan to play a more controlling game (as Pellegrini does) holding on to possession etc. so not relying on the big guy up front to receive long ball?

And to be fair it isn't the countries fault what the club (over) pays the player.

It isn't but to take no responsibility for players being injured whilst representing the country (and which the countries football association will make money from in ticket revenues etc.) is fundamentally wrong.

I've read the same - to a max of £20k per day.

Fabianski would be one of our most underwhelming signings for a while, and there's a lot of st in there.

Ageing goalkeeper from a relegated side.

Pure sully.

So our war chest and world class signings so far consists of a freebie from Fulham and a 33 year old keeper from a team that was diabolical last year. Just like my dreams...

You forgot the bit about losing possibly our best player for most of next season. frown

So we should be covered on that front, assuming it’s true.

And the bit that we might end up selling Arnie with the £ signs lighting up Sullivans eyes...

So looks like Issa Diop could be moving to us, 21 year old French U-23 captain, meant to be a very good centre back. Not seen anything of him myself...any views?

Fixtures out.

Worse possible opener, Liverpool away. First home game's Bournemouth on the 18th (think I'll miss that as on a stag) & Arse away.

Pretty crap first two months - Sept see's Wolves (H), Everton (A), Chelski (H) & Man U (H).

Away on Boxing Day again - S'hmpton; away on the last day (Watford).

December generally looks a decent month though.
