He's a monster but looks so ordinary running around the pitch - then bang!
He has what it takes to get the ball in the net no doubt. Can't pay him a higher compliment than he reminds me of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, although I'm starting to think that Kane's stats when he's finished playing will better RVN's.

Covet is a strong word and there's not many players that I covet Kane is one though, David Silva another.
I think you are doing Kane an injustice he has way more to his game than RVN did, ive never seen a striker work as hard defensively as kane does and he is always involved in the buildup has a great eye for a pass too. Plus he gets all sorts of goals, left foot, right foot, head, inside the box, outside the box, free kicks etc etc.

A better comparison is Teddy, just with RVN numbers maybe.

ps you cant have him hes ours smile

pps loved jenas response yesterday to yet more loaded question trying to move our players on. Finally a pundit that doesnt bow down to the monopoly

fk it im saying it. Harry Kane is the best striker in the world.
There was a recent piece in the Guardian about the stats for Kane vs Messi & Ronaldo - it was already close this year, but even that didn't take into account the quality of the opposition. They play in the Spanish league. That's like Scottish football with sun.

Harry plays in a much more competitive league.
He's clearly a very good player. I'm not convinced he's ahead of Lewandowski or Aguero, he's probably better than Suarez at the moment because he's a bit off the boil, personally I'm not a huge fan of Neymar, but if you're including Ronaldo & Messi as strikers, then he's still behind those two for sure.

Cavani is playing well at the moment and we have a guy called Morata who looks a bit useful. Lukaku is just a multi million pound battering ram. Going to be an interesting season.

But Kane, best in the world, not yet. Could well be in a few years though.

For balance - I hope you get dicked, but I really can't see it happening.
hehe

Actually, I hope they draw against Real and Dortmund and then get dicked by Apoel at home. Would feel more familiar.

RVN did work off the ball too but I was comparing the two in a pure goal scoring context. Frankly with strikers I'm not fussed about how hard they work if they are banging the goals in. That is something that RVN was pretty good at and Kane has that about him. Maybe it would be fair to say that Kane is a little more selfless than Ruud, which makes Kane even more attractive to potential suitors. wink

It's the Spuds way. If they have a good player, then he's the best in the world. If they are doing well in the league then Leicester/Chelsea, we're coming for you.

They're always thinking things are better than they are or are about to get better.

As a Chelsea fan, I don't get it. I always expect things to get worse. I still breath I sigh of relief when we hit 40 points and I know we're not going down.

Where there's a will...

Besides just checked my wallet, I'm a little shy of (what would be) the asking price. Thankfully Man Utd have deeper pockets than me. wink

Sounds like it's a few years since you've been to a game.

Indeed. If you go to the Chelsea thread, Aug/Sept 2013, you'll see I was singing Kane's praises after watching him take us apart in an U/21 match at Aldershot. I knew about Harry Kane long before most Spuds did.
You mean you were fortunate to see him play well in one game ?

To say you knew about Kane long before most spuds is just poppycock . I do however remember you so singing his praises after the match at Aldershot a few years ago.

Looks like West Ham have managed to get Spurs in trouble again by not being able to control their players.
