Sorry Max, have to disagree chap. Honest question, have you ever lived in London?
I actually shivered when I read that. No, I have never lived in that there London.I'm prepared to get absolutely hammered here, but..............
As a kid I went to London quite a bit with football, and my impression was that Londoners are not as bothered about football as supporters everywhere else in the country. In the 80s they were much more interested in the fighting than the football(and the London firms were VERY good), maybe because no London club was really successful on the pitch (apart from the FA Cup).
I get the feeling that London is such an amazing city, with so much to do, that there aren't die hard, football is my life supporters down there. For the record I don't class myself as one of those either.
The impression I get is that Arsenal and Spurs are different. You can see it in the passion of the away support at Anfield, and views of the crowd on Sky. Chelsea fans never really look that bothered. We abuse fk out of the travelling support from all three clubs, and Spurs and Arse give as good back, but the Chelsea support always seems rather subdued(other than when they knocked us out of the European Cup and chanted "fk your history, we're going to Italy(I think)").
However, I haven't lived there, so I'll take on board what you say.
All this nonsense about despising clubs that buy success!! There speaks the supporter of a potless club.
Any fan would love a billionaire to walk into their club. So just because it happens to be another club other than yours, don't be bitter.
Like when your neighbour wins the lotto. No point moaning and groaning about it. Just wish them all the best and hope it's you next time.
I was over the moon when Abramovich came to Chelsea (although people forget we finished runners up the season before!!). Now Citeh have totally eclisped our wealth. I'm not bitter, good for them. I hope they enjoy the good times. Gawd knows, like Chelsea fans, they've had their fair share of misery.

Well, my club, (Everton), spent its entire transfer budget on a packet of penguin biscuits, and some egg and cheese sandwiches. I would kill for a billionaire!
There speaks the voice of honesty.Imagine David Moyes with money to spend!! That would be something for the rest of the premier league to fear! Considering what he's achieved on less money than Sheikh Mansoor has lost down the side of his sofa.
All this talk of buying titles has been going on years. It's not really a "sky generation" thing.
Forest fans got no end of stick in 1980 after buying the first Million Pound man. "Buying the European Cup" as it was. I'm sure there have been similar episodes at other clubs. Just more recently Chelsea and City have taken the biscuit. But as said by someone else previously, If it was your club doing it, You would be relishing the fact.

Nope, I'd prefer each team was playing on a level playing field (pardon the pun). I don't want mercenaries playing for my club, kissing the badge. I want local talent being spotted, nutured and playing at the club...not being snapped up to sit in the City reserves.
Whilst clubs in the past have been accused of buying cups/titles it has now gone to a different level. Whoever has the biggest backer wins the title and we get to watch foreign prima donnas strutting and sulking.

can you not see the difference between buying one expensive player to be the final part of the jigsaw and buying 37 in three years? That is an amazing stat.Kenwright and Moyes deserve knighthoods for their achievements at Goodison, Everton are massively, MASSIVELY underated considering their resources. I really hope you find a buyer for Everton, and Kenwright can enjoy watching his beloved club with all the worries that he currently has to put up with.

Yeah obviously. Just saying it's been going on for years. Obviously City are taking the biscuit a bit. Ruining football in some peoples eyes. Their players will never want to leave, as they won't command those wages anywhere else in the world. Adebeyor Tevez et al.But it is a spectacle, Whether it all comes crashing down remains to be seen. I suppose these financial fair play rules will have some say in it.

Well, it's an impressive figure, certainly, but nothing has actually been achieved with it. I yearn for a buyer, and it doesn't need to be a billionaire, just someone who could give Moyes a decent bit of cash every year. People slate Kenwright, but he dragged us, along with Moyes, from the bog that Agent Johnstone had us truly mired in. His heart is in the right place, but his wallet is not.
