Once again, Flam and Fab bossed the midfield. Great performance and an excellent result for us.

Wenger has admitted that he tried to sign Pato; but was outbid by a few million Euros... still... are we beginning to see the rise of the £10-million Walcott??

Walcott impressed me last night; great pace and strength in making the goal for Adebayawn.

From another Spurs fan:

I doth my cap to you chaps...brilliant display...there was only one team ever going to win last night.

It has really just rubbed the Italians noses in the fact that the Premier league is now THE league in europe.

Watch our 5th placed team dispose of their current league leaders from this competition tonight.

biggrin

That rumour was actually mentioned on the BBC morning program on Monday when reporting about a shirt being buried and dug up again in a USA stadium.

Same sort of thing though, rival teams supporter thought it would bring bad luck to the owners of the new stadium.

Anyway, the ju-ju seems to be working a treat at the Emirates...

serious question im.

What would you have plumped for at the start of the season? 10th place and the coca cola cup thingy or 3rd place and champions league qualification?

Dissapointing as the last few weeks have been, I have to say we have played some amazing stuff this year and I'd have settled for third in August given Henry had buggered off and we looked lightweight squad wise. If Ebeneezer Wenger had spent some dough in January we might have got 3 points against Middlesborough, Birmingham twice and Villa and still been up there til the last game, but we'll never know now.

There's no shame in coming close to United, you have to admit they have been awesome this year and we have done well to run them close til the last few weeks of the season.

Am I alone (even as a Gooner) in saying that I'd prefer United to win the title than Chelsea as they play football the way it's supposed to be played?

scratchchin...Hmmm...Believe it or not, that is a VERY tough question...as REALLY the question is choose between BEATING CHELSEA IN A FINAL or 3rd Place and Champions League qualification?

I think I'd plump for the Chelsea thing as Champions League qualification is a goal to aim for every year - Getting and then beating Chelsea in a domestic final only happens every 30 years in our case.

This may be sacrilege to say as a Tottenham supporter but coming from West London I have always considered Chelsea as the team I most want to beat each season as my hometown patch was Paddington which is a staunchly Chelsea supporting area.

I suppose the Spurs v Arsenal rivalry is a North London thing and as I'm not a North Londoner it just doesn't have the resonance for me that it has with others. Sure, after Chelsea then Arsenal but for me it's always Chelsea first.

I actually became a Spurs supporter after watching the 1967 cup final win for Spurs over Chelsea sat on my dad's lap. Up until that point I had no interest in Football and although it wasn't a great game (apparently) it did enough to make me develop an interest in footy.

I'd agree with that but...I'd have preferred it to have been Liverpool as I think their attacking instincts also merit more trophies...but both play more entertaining footy than Chelsea currently do.
