In all seriousness, Walker was a terrible liability in defence. They just passed it inside him. He pushed up far too much and was not in contact with the rest of the back four.
There was a passage of play where RVP was on the left of our area, someone played a pass to him and Walker was about 10 yards forwards of our back line, RVP had a free run into the box and hit a cross/shot across the face of goal, if Walker had been in line with the rest of the back for he would/should have shown RVP down the line or made him turn onto his weaker right foot.Vertongen also needs to brush up on his cross blocking but other than that he is truly world class.
MOM for me though was Gallas, he was outstanding throughout and I can't remember a single mistake that he made.
Papers reporting that Graham Poll has stats that show that last season when Man Utd were LOSING, on average, there were 74 seconds more injury time than when they were not losing.
How he's got the sheer nerve to moan about 4 minutes not being enough time for them to equalise is beyond belief.

To be fair to Man U, which is something I don't make a habit of, I would guess that teams leading against Man U are likely to take their time over goal kicks, throw ins etc, as they are likely to be hanging on to a 1 goal margin.Whereas Man U, when they are winning, are often winning comfortably so have no reason to waste time. Therefore, it seems obvious that refs would add on more time for timewasting when they are losing than winning, because more time is wasted by the opposition when they are winning.
It's like that old stat about the best teams getting the most penalties. Of course they do, they spend more time in the opposition penalty areas.

Good morning Paul Jiggins of her majesty's gutter press. Are you standing by your ITK exclusive this morning or is it time to own up that because AVB isn't 'Arry & things aren't so cosy any more, you thought it was ok to put the boot in irrespective of even a glint of veracity in your scribblings?
