I don't think any other Footballer comes close to giving the amount that Ronaldo does. Both in monetary terms or time for people who need help.

He's ofetn portrayed in a certain way by the media / people but as a human being he's outstanding.

Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to donate €3 million to Chapecoense and families of the players who died. ????

....but how on earth do you quantify that statement? How do you know what anyone else does?

Before you lay into me, see above; I think it is a really nice touch.

Press reporting and the fact he earns more than everybody else (except perhaps Messi who's more into tax avoidance than giving) so it makes sense?

OK, I earn more than my sister so does that mean by default I am more charitable than her? Because I know that I am not!!

It's nothing to do with how much he earns. It's been widely reported how much he gives, both time and money. I cant say 100% that he gives more than anyone else but i'd be very surprised if they did.

The point I was trying to make is that he probably has more disposable income than any other footballer and is widely reported to be quite charitable so it's quite appropriate to speculate (and that's all it is) that he gives more than others.

The amount you give can only be measured in proportion to what you have. If you have €250m in the bank, then €3m isn't much compared to someone who has £100 in the bank and gives £20. Even moreso if you already have more money than you can spend in a lifetime and won't notice giving it. Or the €3m could simply be future earnings from a sponsorship deal that you aren't going to miss anyway.

Who knows? Who cares? (well I guess is someone cares otherwise it would have been an anonymous donation...)

Doesn't matter. He demands excellence from himself and others and is not happy when it doesn't happen. He is selfish when playing but that selfishness has made him one of the greatest players ever.

Just look how as Skipper he dragged Portgual to win the Euro's. Even when injured he was on the touchline supporting his team mates and trying to get them over the line.

And people still hate him.....rolleyes

You do realise that the only reason people dislike him is because he played for man yoo don't you .

Doesn't matter what he earns ,this is a great gesture by the great man & he should be thoroughly applauded for it too.

You know them extra goals they're using in the warm up? Can we leave it there at the West Ham end? We might have a better chance of scoring then smile
Ibra, great goal but overall 3/10 so given his recent form is there any downside at all to playing Rashford?

You are not winning,again.

Luke Shaw limped off to Greggs at half time, again.

This report was brought to you live, not from Old Trafford.
