Now that is the kind of appointment that has me hoping that you do well next season (although hopefully you won't beat the Gooners at home again).
So much better than the easy route of appointing one of the likes of Bruce, Hughes, Allardyce, Warnock, McCarthy or Curbishley.....(or Redknapp)

Sounding like a good coup for you guys.
I know he was a fantastic player, but haven't heard much of him as a manager. Who did he manage last and has he had much success as a manager?
I'd expect he has some fantastic contacts in the game, so i'd expect some intresting signings, especially as you guys know you have 5mil from Liverpool, plus the 7mil from the Gylfi transfer.
I guess it depends if he wants to put his own stamp on the team and play his way, or try and go with how Rogers was doing it, but intergrate new players too.
Next season sure to be another cracker though...

The last three of our managerial appointments have been "gambles" on inexperienced managers - look where we are now.
I trust Huw and the board to get this right - Laudrup's brief will be to stabilise the club while bringing his own style.
Laudrup has the following experience:
- Assistant coach of Danish national team under Morten Olson
- Won the Danish double as manager of Brondby
- Managed Getafe in La Liga, taking them to the Copa Del Rey final and Uefa Cup quarters
- Managed Spartak Moscow but sacked
- Managed RCD Mallorca in La Liga and kept them from relegation (odds on favorites)

I certainly wouldn't rank Laudrup as a gamble & continuing that run. In fact I think he's a little underrated as a manager and am slightly surprised he hasn't gone on to bigger and better things (no offense intended, I just thought he might have ended up at a level below CL club). The only issues I can see are that I'm not sure of his depth of knowledge of the Prem and there's always the risk that it might just not work for no specific reason, good, bad or indifferent.I trust Huw and the board to get this right - Laudrup's brief will be to stabilise the club while bringing his own style.

Getafe & Mallorca wouldn't have a pot to piss in between them (plenty of lower league clubs in England have more cash), which I guess helps to put his performances there into perspective.
He's never struck me as having a particular ego and it must be one hell of a gee up to the players to have someone so successful & admired as a player in the dressing room.
All round good appointment, I'd say.

This guy pretty much single-handedly kept Rayo Vallecano on La Liga last season!Sad to see Joey go but money talks.
If I am being frank, there is no way on earth he is a £15m player. It's the previously inflated prices of other players that has caused this (plus the release fee).
Good luck to him, but at that price Liverpool fans are not going to give him much time to become a success....
All the best Joe, and thanks for funding the stadium expansion!

As a liverpool fan I know nothing about this lad other than paper talk and what I have watched of the Olympics. If I am being frank, there is no way on earth he is a £15m player. It's the previously inflated prices of other players that has caused this (plus the release fee).

I assume BR wanted him as he knows the style, player etc, he will fit in pretty quick I am sure.
Question is how good is he? As a footballer nobody is worth 15m so fk the price, what will he bring to LFC, will you chaps find it hard/easy to replace?
Good luck for the season.
