Just watching MOTD. Michu looks very very good. I think Swansea are stronger without BR.
I'll ignore the boring and predictable dig at BR, and say when watching MOTD and Michu and found myself thinking...

when was the last time LFC paid less than 3m for a relative unknown talent that developed into a valuable asset?

We have tended to by young, stick them in the reserves and let them rot - one thing BR has done well that KD never seemed to do is bring Suso Sterling etc into the first time (although maybe he did bring in Kelly and Flanagan so maybe I am talking ste on this point)

But he was bought young and into the youth team, I meant a Michu or Dembele or Ba

It would be absolutly criminal to lose Stirling, a true talent we have there, he could end up being another Gerrard/ Carra if we play our cards right, without doubt one of the best players we have produced for years, and the lad is barely 18!

I see, i apologise.

I guess you could count Reina for £6m, Agger for £5.8m, Arbeloa £2.6m But yeah, very few cheap players who come in and well out perform their price tags.

Absolutely this, will be livid if he's taken off us before he can sign a proper contract. He has shown he's worth a decent wage!

Hopefully its just a mixture of papers making stuff up to sell papers and agents trying to bump his wage up.

Add Skertl to that list. Even Alonso and Kuyt. We simply fked up big time with this buy overpriced English or 'premiership proven' nonsense we had as a strategy last season.

Nothing to do with hindsight when we seem to have done our scouting on MOTD or look to bring in players we've worked with before.

That is if we have any money for transfers at all in January. I'm sceptical myself after the debacle of the summer and Henry's letter to the fans. I have a suspicion the best we'll get is a loan signing.

We all know we need a striker, my gut feeling is the best we'll manage will be Bent on loan.

I think it will be Assaidi if Rogers played the fker ! (Maybe just over 3 mil but for a winger with pace that pricetag is usually unspoke of)

Yea, you can't really credit BR with any youth players except Assaidi, since most were bought whilst Rafa was still here!

Sturridge would be a good addition to the squad, when our second top scorer is own goals we need anyone that can put the ball in the net! We will see how we get on against West Ham with no striker, will he promote Morgan? Or play Shelvey up top again?

Trading Sterling for Walcott would be a terrible idea, we would need our heads testing if we bought into that.

Anyone else a little underwhelmed by Sturridge? Yea he'd probably get us a few goals each season, but I don't think he's the 15+ goal scorer we need.

I agree jammy. Surely there are much better goal scoring prospects for that amount of money ?

Michu. No point in signing someone different every 6 months just because they've hit a patch of form!
Not sure he has hit a patch of form.

He scored 15 goals in La Liga from midfield last season. How no other teams noticed him is beyond belief.

But, I know the reason we got him (and for a good price) is Laudrup jumped on his knowledge that Vallecano were in dire financial straights. Michu did not want to leave but selflessly agreed so that Vallecano could have some much needed funds.

The man a is genuinely awesome bloke - look at his rally to save his old club Oviedo. He, Cazorla and Mata put their hands in their pockets and bought a st load of shares before the liquidators came in.

How many youth players do you think BR should have developed in the 4 months or so that he has been in charge? Never mind that youth developmnet isn't really his role...

I'm not sure if that post is for or against what I wrote?

Either way I think it backs up my point; BR simply hasn't had any time in which to make his stamp on the youth development (which isn't his first role anyway), he's barely had enough time to get a grips with the first team (even though he's already had enough criticism for not turning them into a title winning side already).

Stronger with the money that LFC have given them.
That sounds as if you did us a favour, whereas in reality you took our Mangager, coach and paid over the odds for a midfielder (You did give us money in the eighties (or wrote off a number of debts) thumbup

In reality we gave you money in exchange for something. Money which you've invested wisely. In fact, I believe the stadium expansion is already paid for thanks to the Allen deal.

I see where you're coming from now. I thought you were having a pop at Rodgers for not developing any youth players. We've had some 'unusual' claims on here before but that one would have topped the bloody lot!

Haha, no, quite the opposite. A few posts on the last couple of pages seem to have credited BR with developing some of the youth. Whilst I'm sure he's had more of a positive effect than a negative one on the youth, I think the majority of the thanks can go to firstly the youth management team, and secondly to Rafa.
