I reckon Suarez is worth between £25M-£30M , just think what Brendan could do with that kind of cash, Wouldn't you fancy another Allen & Borini in the starting Xl
So about 2m more than what we paıd for hım!! Jog on

Worry about your own "stars" stayıng rather than ours

What do people thınk about a small bıd on someone lıke Austın at Burnley? What type of prıces do you thınk he would command?

He signed a new long term contract this summer, so we're in a strong position.
Thats what we thought about Modrat.
But you still kept him for a good season or two before he left, and got a decent fee for him when he left too. Neither of those things would have been possible if he hadn't got a number of years left on a contract!

Shagging hell knows why it formatted like that...

I was saying jog on to 2m more than we paid for him

And what do people think about a gamble on someone like Austin at burnley? Along with someone else

I believe people were doubting whether could make the step up to Premier League and he seems to be doing OK...

Depends on the price i suppose, He does seem to be banging em in though.

You have a decent centre forward currently sipping london pride & enjoying some jellied eels in the east end

He was looking half decent at the end of last season

1 in 11 don't sound to great??

I remember Wickham last year going for 12m and he did or does not have a reocrd anything like this lad! He seems to have done it at all levels and all clubs!

There is deffo talent out there good enough to make it given a chance.

Would depend on the price, but I couldn't see Burnley turning down 5/6m

I refer the honourable gentleman to the question I posed some moments ago.

I suppose it depends on who's buying, they know you need a striker & maybe they would chance their arm for an higher price, Not sure if he's a big enough name for Liverpool tbh, still cannot see why you let kuyt go, he was a player who gave his all. Really think liverpool should buy big for a proven striker & show some kind of intent. If the owners allow it that is, i

I agree it's not terrific but the West ham faithful seem to love him & his commitment

Dont think gambles are what we need...we need goals. That means someone proven.

Yeah same here. To be fair I think he'll score with a decent run and the right system, but maybe 1 in 3 at the very very best? Probably less though.

Regrettably he won't get either here so it's the high road.

Maybe we would be better off buying Owen from Stoke. Would count as a Homegrown player for the Champions League as well.

I don't think Chelsea will be in for him. And I don't think we'd sell him to City either, just like we didn't sell Agger to them in the summer either.

However, Sterling...
Jammy you do realise that Agger refused to move don't you?

Any evidence of that? The only thing I can find is the following:

Agger said:
“I’d rather stay but that decision is not up to me at the moment.

“Liverpool can do a deal even though I have two years on my contract, but I haven’t changed my mind
on the subject.

“Sometimes you can end up in a position where it’s not your decision. I don’t want to be somewhere I am not wanted but I would prefer if they want me to stay. That is my priority.”
That's not really a refusal, more an acknowledgement of the fact that if we wanted to sell him and got an offer big enough, he wouldn't really have a choice in the matter.

As for the comments about buying "proven", that's what the owners did (or at least thought they were doing) last January with Carroll. They won't be burnt twice. I'm sure they'll be money available, but not to the tune to buy a "proven" goalscorer.

I don't think you'll get an out and out interview with Agger saying 'they want to sell me but I'm refusing to go'. There was more than enough discussion on it though.

Agger resisted the move for whatever reason. Would Suarez? I think in January yes he would but the summer with us finishing mid table again. I doubt it.

But at the same time he's acknowledged the fact that he wouldn't have a choice in the matter if we told him he was being sold.
