If he feels that ihe has done the right thing, what's bugging me is how people think he "turned Liverpool down" like were not good enough for him!

It's all in the reporting. Language is a powerful tool.

Was just having a look at Kenny's transfers (apologise for the dodgy looking table). They actually look pretty good imo. Got rid of allot of crap & on paper brought in some quality & decent hopefuls. Still wary about the Carroll, Henderson & Downing but surely things only get better with them. Would have been happy to keep Kyrgiakos, Meireles & Insua though.

I heard Skirtel is hinting about leaving, is this true?

Am I the only fan not too worried by all the recent goings on at LFC? I'm actually quite excited about what the future could hold. Don't get me wrong it could still get worse for us, we could still end up doing worse next season than last. But I understand that we will need time to rebuild and try to get back to where we belong. Some times we just cling on to past glories as if being the dominant force in europe once upon a time means we should automaticly be doing the same now.

There are some big names being linked with the club which is great although no one really knows whats true and whats rumour, we only know of 2 managers that LFC have official approached. Of course it would be fantastic to sign either Pep or Jose but whats to say bringing in either of those means success compared to Martinez. Some of you say that neither would sign for us but I think one of them could be tempted by the prospect of returning us to glory and becoming a hero, a legend even. Wont happen though. Also I'm happy that Rogers turned us down, if he had signed for us, failed and been sacked he may of dwindled into obscurity. At Swansea hes building a good team and a solid reputation, playing good football. Brendon Rogers could well be a star of the future but not now and he knows it.

I would like to see Capello get the job. Our style of play may turn a bit dull but solid results is what we need and I think he could do that for us, turn Anfield back into the fortress it once was and in a couple of years time when things have stabilized and confidence has returned we could change it again, bring back attractive football and really push for the most sought after trophies.

As for our current crop of players, theres good and bad. I think we have brought in a couple of players that will just take time to really get into things but be stars of the future, near future hopefully. Theres also players like Downing and Adam that are no more than squad players at best, they have moments of quality but not enough and not when its needed it seems, although we could all be proved wrong. Carroll I think will do well for us, its taken time to come but the last few matches he played this season he looked a lot better, more of the man we saw at newcastle. A good campaign with england could be exactly what he needs to come back next season and hit the ground running.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, interesting times ahead. Oh and I'm sure SSN were reporting that liverpool expect to appoint a new manager by the opening day of the transfer window, if thats true we wont have to wait long.

I must say that the existing premiership names making the headlines fill me with dread. The only name that has potential is AVB as I think the likes of Klopp will not come to us. As for Rafa, I don't doubt for one minute that he wouldn't want the job, nor that he would improve us. Its just that after Dalglish , Rafa would also be a solution from our past. I think its time we started looking to our future as well.
For months you've banged on about getting Kenny out, while largely ignoring the fact that he would need to be replaced by *someone*. Now it's happened and the inevitable names are being bandied about and you're filled with dread? I'm sorry, but if it all goes to st, you'll just have to take your medicine Mystic Meg.

Just because we had a manager that whilst loved was a complete failure doesn't mean we don't replace him. From where I'm sat the issue for the owners was never about getting rid of him but rather who they replace him with.

You keep munching on some of that pie.
HE WON A fkING TROPHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How the goddam fkity fk does that class as a failure? Hey, lets throw in the final of another one.

Outside of top 4. Is that it? Is that your definition of failure? Well hell then boy, lets sack the other 15 or so useless knackers out there shall we?

If I ever have the misfortune to meet you, Im going to sell you to the Welsh!

He won a Mickey Mouse trophy that no one else bothered the slightest about. He won it with a team that beat a Championship club on penalties.

I never thought I'd see the day when a Liverpool fan defends a manager that got the team to 8th.

Still, one lives and learns.

Are you going to try to persuade your brother Michael to play for Everton now that he's a free agent?

Ah revisionism. So we didn't have to beat full strength Chelsea & Man City teams, away. Plus other teams before that.

The same cup that Arsenal didn't care about last year... Oh....

I think not! wink Our physio room is full at the best of time. Another clumsy, injury prone chappy we do not need. Plus, we have Jelly. No Owen required.

A Dalglish apologist conveniently forgetting that even if Arsenal cared about the tin cup they also cared about Champions League. Why does it have to be one or the other?

As for selling me to the Welsh. Should I be offended?

Part of me is pleased that I have some value. Just try selling the likes of Downing, Henderson and Hollywood to anyone

Wasn't arguing about the merits of whether the Carling Cup was enough to keep him in his job.

But the 'nobody else tried for/ gave a st about' spiel is utter bull.

Btw Raja, saw your response to beers in London - drop me a PM when you're down & we'll sort it out! If you can buy & in the right areas it's a safe investment - renting is exorbitant, I rent frown.
