I get that there are top teams that we will be lucky to get a point out of, and then there are teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs who, if they are not having a good game they are generally bang average and so we could snatch something....but fking hell, even though Arsenal are playing well, we look non league......utter st......thank god there are other teams who produce this rubbish every week so we won’t go down......
Well we gifted Arsenal a four goal lead courtesy of our own mistakes and you're not going to get anything out of games doing that in this division. The first half was possibly the worst I've seen us play in the league this season and, while the last half hour was better, by then it was too little too late. The positives were we didn't give-up and the substitutes - especially Roberts - made a difference but overall not one of our better days at the office....
For large parts of the second half we played like Leeds play. And were the better team for most of it.
As much as I love Cooper and Alioski the pair are a liability. Cooper got lucky for their disallowed pen as it was another school boy lunge. I'd like to see Dallas back at left back and Shackleton in midfield.
If the ref thought the first challenge on Sako was a pen, how has he not given one to Bamford? The ref was giving free kicks all over the pitch for less contact.
Edit to add a bit about crying at the number of injuries we have like Liverpool fans do

Meslier needs to stop fking about as well.
I agree about Meslier - you cant piss about trying to be clever in the box at this level. If in doubt hoof it out..!! Think he should have done better to get a hand to prevent at least one of the other goals. I haven't caught up on all the post match interviews but think we gave them far too much respect in the first half and got punished for it. Not only does Struijk at CDM not work, it also loses us a massive outlet down the right channel bringing Ayling into CB. I'd have left the back four alone and put Shack in the CDM role
Alioski a liability defensively
Cooper I thought had a reasonable game but correct that he was lucky with the disallowed penalty
Meslier at fault for the first 3 I'm afraid. Beaten twice at his near post and the less said about the penalty the better
Costa cost us the 4th dicking about and losing the ball 30 yards out and although he scored I don't see what he brings and certainly not worth the £15 million he cost us
And Bamford should have had the penalty! Hard to believe Maguire got one given originally for falling over (despite being offside, before VAR overturned it) in the Manure game yet Bamford gets nothing when he was sandwiched by 2 players in the box.
To hear a Man United player have the audacity to complain that they're not getting decisions!!!

Got what we deserved for playing like amateurs for the first 60 minutes.
Alioski, as much as I like the guy isn't what we need at left back. He can't defend to save his life and doesn't have the speed or skill to take players on.
Hopefully Meslier will learn from the penalty.
As soon as Sako or whatever his name his went through in the first half I turned and said to the missus "this is going to be a pen" and low and behold, it was (kinda). If the ref didn't think it was a penalty after reviewing it though, where is the yellow card for a dive? There was a LOT more contact for the Bamford one near the end where there was zero attempt made to get the ball.
As soon as I saw the team sheet yesterday I was worried with Struijk playing CDM. I think I've said it before but he just doesn't look comfortable there. He ran the show in that position against Derby last season but hasn't looked comfortable since. Another area we need to bolster in the summer to cover KP.
Hopefully we can get Phillips, Rodrigo, Berra, Koch, Llorente, Forshaw and Poveda back from injury sometime soon. Only 7 first team options out injured...

There are three options on incidents like those AFAIUI.1. There's contact, it's a penalty, defender possibly gets carded.
2. There's a little contact but not enough for number 1 to happen. No further action.
3. There's no contact at all (a clear dive), attacker carded, free kick to defending side.
I'd say that yesterday classed as a number 2.

Anyone care to guess which Leeds will turn up tonight? I've given up even trying to predict scores this year with any team let alone Leeds. Could go either way as long as we don't gift them a 4-0 lead
I wouldn't even like tontry and guess what the score will be. Neither 4 - 2 or 2 - 4 would be a suppise. That said. It will probably be 0-0

I'm going 1-1. Philips out again is my main worry.
I'm just hoping Bielsa doesn't play Pascal there again. Either play Shack or I don't see why you couldn't play Klich there, even though you'd lose his passing in the final third.Edit: Shack at CDM, hurray (probably go badly wrong now).

Well that was another example of fine margins tonight. Their goal was more than a touch fortunate and, while I know they had one or two opportunities as well, if anything I'd say we had the more clear-cut chances and on another day would have had two or three. I thought we definitely deserved something out of the game but then I felt the same after they beat us 1-0 at ER earlier in the season; ah well, roll-on Southampton on Tuesday...
