Excellent stuff going forward last night. Rooney and Micky were fantastic.
Rooney is proving me wrong. I was absolutely certain that he was physically gone.
I think he thrives around quick thinking, quick running players around him. And he feels he has a point to prove now. Great to see, I'll watch United religiously, but it's been dire the last year or two. This is the first time in those couple of years, I'm really enjoying watching some of our play. Reminds me of Fergie times.Rooney is proving me wrong. I was absolutely certain that he was physically gone.

This. He's now got others around him who think as quick as he does and he's not left having to wait the extra few seconds for them to catch up. By which time he's had no option but to turn round and play backwards etc. For the first time since SAF I'm actually loking forward to games and watching us play. I hope Bailly and Smalling can form a good bond at the back for us too Anyone else think that Blind is capable of the Carrick role? I do!
Said it for a while about Blind, CM is where he grew up playing as a youngster in Holland, we bought him in as a CM but he's versatile which is great. Rojo playing in his favoured CD role too.
Pleased with them at the minute. We need to start stringing the wins together now and see where we get. Last season we had a terrible December, so hoping for better this time!

Blind is horrendously slow
That only really matters if you get out of shape and need to make a recovery run. If you have possession (which we generally do) and pass the ball well (I'd say we do that pretty well enough) then lack of pace shouldn't be a problem. Carrick's not blessed with pace but the position suits him well enough. Beside's that's what defenders are for, to get midfielders out of the st! We don't lack pace at the back! Changing the topic slightly but does anyone go on redcafe and post on it? I sometimes head over and take a look at the threads, but its full of moronic posters who lurch from one panic station to another.
It was actually quite a laugh to read, and you have to wonder how many people actually believe what they have written.

It's an amazing place to view from afar, some sense and a lot of bks. Some of the posters make even our 'friends' look balanced and non agenda driven. Can be genuinely hilarious and interesting for the right reasons, but just stay well away if we ever lose - it's eye bleedingly painful to read the knee jerk stuff. It was actually quite a laugh to read, and you have to wonder how many people actually believe what they have written.

I think with Rooney all of a sudden he's surrounded by quality players instead of almost being the one to have to carry the team as per. Especially Micky, that lads got proper talent and he seems to link really well with Rooney, they have an almost Yorke/Cole'esque partnership forming.
I have to agree with the pundits the only difference really over recent games is the goals came las tnight. Some of our approach play has been really good these last few weeks but we've hit everything but the back of the net.
More lessons learned for Mourinho last night. I'm liking his brand of football at the minute.

Mid week cup ties do seem to bring the goals.
For me, the performances come first. We will not get close to the top of the league this season but are on for a Cup Treble!

Some of the comments are brilliant - though in and among the extremes I would have thought Blind with his great passing range would be ideal for the Carrick role...as said, the pace can be with Hererra. Pogba won't help out...that has been clear up till now.

Looked in, have an account ( I think ) but quickly vacated. It was actually quite a laugh to read, and you have to wonder how many people actually believe what they have written.
Example of Redcafe being interesting (I had a look after it was mentioned earlier):

It's a short autobiography from Mikhi, very interesting read. His dad was called Hamlet .

Very nice article,
As an Armenian and a United fan this is for me amazing to see! I was in Armenia in June before he had signed but the talk there was all about his up and coming movemove. He was visiting his mum and just casually walking the streets - he is a genuine nice guy. A little PH part as well, in Amsterdam for an annual Armenian sports tornament (easter weekend) he took the time to drive from Dortmund to join in the fun and games, dance, drink etc...he came in his Aventador.
