He's 36 years old - Levy doesn't want to give Toby a contract at 30 why would he buy a 36 year old?
I think Toby would be offered a contract. The reason it hasn't happened is the current contracts release clause that Toby hasn't been willing to give up. In 10 days time the clause expires, so something will happen relatively soon.
It's one of the dumbest contract negotiations from a player and agent I can think of.

From not signing the better contract a year or so ago he's missed out on an extra 80k a week. Meaning if he does sign somewhere he's going to need to get 200k+ just to break even.

And if the only club interested in him right now is Roma then it's an even bigger car crash of a negotiation.
It doesn't appear that Toby has returned for pre-season training, so a move looks like it might well happen. They only other big name missing, who isn't known to be injured is Rose, which is odd.

Eriksen has joined the squad. I'm a bit divided about Erkisen, great player but is it really sensible to let him leave on a free at the end of the season?

The fringe players that the club would appears to move on haven't been spotted in the footage the club has released are Janssen, Edwards, or Onomah.

Surprisingly CCV, is there, so maybe there is hope for him.
Toby is there. Were pictures of him training yesterday.
Yes, I saw those pictures too.
I didn't.
You missed a real treat then. It was Toby, in training, yesterday.

No Rose that I've seen and sounds like he won't be going on tour. Mid-table beckons.

Kieran Trippier

£20m doesn't seem to bad a fee.

Right back options, KWP, Aurier (or at a push Foyth)

Did Dier start as right back?

His 'peak' was for England and not for us. Seems an OK amount. Could get some decent young talent for that.

Ideally someone who can mark and follow a runner, rather than ball watching and then throwing their arms up in the air.....

"Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Danny Rose have been granted additional time off in order to explore prospective opportunities with other clubs."

And no mention of Marcus Edwards or Josh Onomah.

Bit of a shame about Edwards, I'll keep an eye on his career, his got the talent, if he finds the right environment.

Letting Rose go baffles me unless Sessignon is coming in.

His actions don't convince me that he's always on board and can be unsettling for the whole squad. He's alright when he wants to be...

Apparently Leeds have a sell on clause with Rose

"Rose's contract in north London runs until 2021 and the sell-on clause is reported to be ten per cent of any profit Spurs make on the sale. Rose arrived from Leeds United for just £1million in 2007 before he made his senior debut, so Leeds would cash in, should a fee be involved."

Sessignon is not a left back for me, switches off more than Rose

He's no more a left back than Bale. But then neither is Rose....

He's quicker than Rose, scores more goals than Rose and he's younger than Rose. What's not to like?

We probably wont sign him though

Apparently Edwards is training with Brentford. It will be interesting if they sign him, they are probably the most prominent users of stats in the Championship. Spotting talent and selling it on for a healthy profit is their business model.

Yep. He can quite easily revert to LB if required to.

Well if Sess isn't coming and with Davies injured we'll need to buy somebody before the season kicks off.
