No player would survive that at United
Of course Fergie never threw a boot at Beckham did he?scratchchin

Stuff like this happens all the time at football clubs, only difference is, it is usually out of sight of the cameras.
Looks like Balotelli was acting the prat again and Roberto decided he'd had enough.

Last I looked Beckham didn't stay at Utd for much longer after that......

Read this morning that Berlusconi isn't terribly impressed with Mario (i.e. He who owns AC Milan & they being the only club that have supposedly expressed an interest in Mario). City could well be stuck with him.

What is the cost of a band A ticket at Eastlands? £62 does seem high but by how much when compared with other teams?

think the top whack for away fans at city is about £50. there's been a bit of a campaign on the city forums to boycott the arsenal game due to the price.

sadly, i feel it's going to be like the price of a litre of petrol. i can remember thinking it would never breach £1 per litre, and there was loads of moaning and press coverage when it did. now look.... in football, i reckon the figure will be £100. once over that, £120, £130......

I'm glad the boycott is making a few headlines at the moment.
I know Arsenal fans are used to paying high prices but it does seem excessive.
moneys tight at the moment and it makes it a very expensive day out so hopefully this sort of thing will make "the powers that be" aware that continual fleecing of fans just isn't on.

Playing devil's advocate for the moment...

There's an argument that City fans are reaping what they sew...

In order to compete financially with clubs like City and Chelsea other, less financially bouyant clubs, are going to have to charge sky high prices when you come to town laden down with your mega-stars who are all being paid for by sheik whatsisname.

You've now become an attractive club to watch whereas 3 seasons you'd have been a 'cat c' game you're now a 'cat a' game and the prices will reflect this.

Arsenal sold their other 'cat a' games this season, Spurs, Chelsea etc - its just your supporters that don't seem to think your team are worth watching at £62 a ticket.

Now if you really don't like it why not ask the sheik to clear out all of your superstars and return to being a 'cat c' opponent?

Like I said - its just an alternative viewpoint...

£62 per ticket, it's a Sunday afternoon game, it's live on Sky, and a long trek for most fans. We're still taking 2000+ to the Emirates.

Don't quite understand that argument. If they've become a 'cat a', attractive team to watch, why wouldn't people want to go and see them play?

I would argue that it takes time to build a fanbase. City fans, on the whole are quite a loyal bunch and generally in quite a concentrated area (due to the limited success over the past few decades). I think success has come to the club quicker than they can build the fanbase in recent years. I imagine that the school kids of today will grow up watching players like Balotelli, Hart, Aguero and in 10-15 years time, City's fanbase will be much larger.

Also, maybe Arsenal have become a 'cat c' team, and so fewer supporters want to take the long journey to go and see their team play against them?

I dunno...but City fans are apparently "boycotting the match" due to the cost.

Don't quite get this?
Geography isn't my strongest, but aren't the supporteres of Chelsea and Spurs likely to live juast down the road whuch makes travel cheaper and less time consuming whereas we have to come a couple of hundred miles?

(did you notice how I resisted the temptation to lump Utd supporters in the "just down the road" group)

(dammm...... laugh)

0-2. Is Joe Hart really the best 'keeper the country has got? Do they not learn to catch the ball anymore ... he's a big bloke and yet he's always appealing for a bloody foul ...

he's not in the greatest of form for him.but when he's on fire he's outstanding.
One of his strengths is his concentration- he can have bugger all to do for 89 minutes but he can pull off a world class save in the 90th.
