United are currently as bad as they could be with the squad that they have. No material risk involved in a change.

Don't think Ed agrees...according to the Sun / Fat man Custis he's talked LVG out of quitting again:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/footbal...

Now ok its the sun, so could be complete crap, but if not then what the actual fk? Pick one of the following

A) Ed doesn't fancy Giggs & reckons he can get Guardiola in the summer (cause he always gets his man, amirite?)
B) He reckons LVG really can turn it round
C) He hasn't a clue, at all, and is panicking
D) Its the sun

If the answer isn't D then, well, interesting times...

I reckon its A but i doubt it will be Pep, as I suspect City have him. Would we want Giggs for the rest of the season and potentially ruining his legacy? Is Giggs lined up to take charge in a couple of years?

I think the issue is who would come in if LvG was sacked? Only one available now is Mourinho and would the board want him especially after the debacle with Chelsea this season.

The next manager:

Jose the Special One - I would be massively disappointed if he came to OT. Would be a desperate solution, a short term one, and the club would need to buy an extra bus just to transport his baggage and ego around.

Pep - there seems to be a generally held opinion that he is going to City? Based on what, exactly? Would be a good catch for Utd.

Giggs - the brave choice, the romantic choice. But is there any evidence that he can manage? Even so, I would be tempted to give him a run at OT. He will have the backing of the fans, and they will give him time even if he not an immediate success. As for him developing managerial experience at a smaller club first, no. If he can manage, let him manage at Man United. If he can't, well we cannot get much worse anyway.

Not Giggs, he'll be in at the deep end and its way too big a job for a rookie. As much as its the romantic option, its not the right option too for him or us. I reckon we'll have to stick with LvG until the end of the summer.

C) All evidence points here.

I don't think Guardiola will go to United.
He seems to prefer a ready made team, United aren't even half a team based on current performances.

I think there's a couple of people on City's board that are ex Barcelona from when he got the job there.

I have it on equally good authority that Guardiola's going to Bristol Rovers, Neil Warnock's going to be taking the reins at City and we're seriously considering Big Sam in a last ditch effort to beat the drop.

Guys, let's not get distracted here - the primary focus as loyal supporters is to let the board and the knobhead of a manager know that we're not remotely impressed with the current 'style' (and I use this term extremely loosely!) and things really need to change. Last week was a decent start but the coordination and volume wasn't quite there so I suggest we all meet in the car park opposite the United Megastore before the Stoke match and practice booing to ensure a full-force message next week (unless Derby deliver the stuffing I've been hoping for in the meantime).

To be slightly fair to LVG for a second.... back in the Fergie days there was a feeling that Utd, whilst winners in the English league, always underperformed in Europe (three wins compared to Real Madrid's 10)because their fast and furious tactics didn't work in Europe. In order to compete in Europe a slower, more possessive game was needed..... and here we are.

I don't want to be unreasonable about LVG either. But he gets paid £xM to manage a football team with the intention of winning matches and trophies.
Not losing and being canny is fine up to a point.
For me that point arrived when I was at Old Trafford for the PSV group game.
The whole season hinged on that evening. A win and United were through, likely as group winners.
All it needed was a goal.
A few chances went begging in the first half but the match wound down. A sort of anticlimactic nightmare.
The last 10 or 15 minutes were the antithesis of SAF. Instead of laying siege to the PSV goal, United played the goddam ball sideways! The crowd were pleading for an attack, a chance, a goal.
We were rewarded with a woeful and inept display. The tea lady could have organised the team better.

That game laid the foundation for the disaster at Wolfsburg. LVG rolled the die as he had no choice. Thus introducing us to his second sort of team: attack but no defence.

The Glazers cannot know much about the game and about executives if they think Ed Dunderhead has a clue.
£285m down the drain and a place in the Europa League.

Dunderhead has to go.

LVG has to go.

Those clowns are squandering money and loyalty.
This needs fixing quickly and effectively.

Man Utd under Moyes (£60m spent) - 40 points in 23 games.

Man Utd under LVG (£250m spent) - 37 points in 23 games.

Based on that alone surely he has to go?

Also, I'm told, the lowest number of shots on target at home across all 92 English professional league teams so far this season...still we have signed a new commercial deal with Columbia outdoor clothing

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/business/bu...

So at least when you're stood out in the rain and cold at OT, watching the ste on a stick first halves we are being served up, you will have something warm to wear safe in the knowledge you are supporting the club. So really, everything is fine it's ok, money still coming in.

From the press release: “Like Manchester United, Columbia is steeped in history and has a reputation for creating innovative premium products. Available in over 100 countries, Columbia enjoys an international reach that matches the Club’s."

Creating innovative premium products? We can't even create a shot on target ffs. What the fk has happened to our club. It's really not funny any more weeping

Why? LVG is clearly building for the future. His brand of football is obviously better than Moyes', he's solid at the back (for some games) and any day now he's going to unleash the attacking players in devastating style.

Seriously??, its ok to spend £250m, underperform and use the excuse of 'I am building a team for the future'??? If it was your money would you be happy with that?

'Any day now he's going to....' Hahahahahaaaaa. Joker.
