I rather like this calm, measured analysis of England's performance.

Best seven minutes i've enjoyed in a while.
Absolutely brilliant, everyone should watch this.
I must fit 'st' into a rant this week.
Sometimes only swearing will do.
Made me laugh properly.
I think someone had upset him a little but laugh

Absolutely brilliant!!! laugh

I listened to some bloke review each players performance on Talksport the other day and thought that was good, but this is brilliant. Love the Sterling hairdressers comments!

a lot of talk about Southgate as an interim until Wenger can take over next summer.
Yeah, that winner Wenger, who hasn't been exposed as a one dimensional loser at all, has he?

Does anyone else get why we seem to be talking about people like Steve Bruce and Sam Allardyce?

They've won pretty much fk all ever. I don't get it confused
Playing devils advocate....

Its hard for ANYONE English to manage a trophy winning team when the top, 6? of the top clubs have managers from abroad, and have been for erm...a long time?

I think we should disband the international team and wait for a load talent to develop under the watchful eye of a couple of the best European coaches. Got to be a better plan then looking for a British Manager

Southgate doesn't want it

Quite impressed with his tenure at Middlesborugh, but I cant say i'm disappointed at his rejection.

I am a football fanatic. Total supporter of England and Leicester!
I am also over 60 and in my opinion no one of my age should be even considered for the national job.
We need young, dynamic and creative thinkers in the job.
Same goes for the FA. Please please, bring in some younger blood to energise things.
Wish I was wrong but sadly not!

The admission by the English FA Chief Executive (who has a background in biscuit manufacture) that very few people at the FA have any background in Football and haven't done since the days of Brooking tells you everything you need to know about the situation at Executive Level.

The secret sycophantic whispering by the agents to their players has much to do with their over-inflated sense of self and ego. For most of them there is always someone else to blame and another deal for more money to be made.

I'm not saying other home nation players are affected but seeing how much the majority of English National squad players are paid by their clubs I think that their fee for playing for the National team should be exactly £1 per game. It would serve to weed out the greedy and fame hungry and perhaps just find a few players who would play with passion, team-spirit and a higher degree of responsibility to the shirt on their back and the supporters at the game.

I am fairly certain that the England players each donate their fee to charity.

It's not compulsory but they do.

Oh come off it! He was good by England standards, but if you compiled a list of the top players to have ever played the game, with Pele and Maradonna as 1 & 2 in whatever order you prefer, maybe Messi as 3, and then added in your Cruyffs, Beckenbaurs, De Stafanos, Eusebios et al, I doubt Gazza would make the top 500.
Gazza definitely had the touch but spent his probable best years injured and not playing, or getting knocked out of international comps.

He might have been , but wasnt, for whatever reason, like many others who ended up playing for the wrong country or whatever.
