We were playing well when we were attacking, we had more possession of the ball, we basically looked the more likely to score.
Why do we score and all of a sudden start defending and getting bombarded, does not make sense to me.

Well as usual we spent f.a.

Don’t get me wrong, the loan signings could make a difference, but over the last 11 seasons our net spend p.a. is £4.5m. Don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see the problem do you?

Where has all the money gone, TV rights, parachute payments, advertising (don’t get me started on that one), gate receipts etc etc? Ashleyout.com has some interesting stats on the loans in and out piece, funnily enough the debt seems to have been paid, but we still owe the fat man it.

Clever accounting. Glad to see we’re top of the league in something.

P.s. I met someone a while ago who as well as being high up in football until relative recently has met the fat man on a number of occasions. His view? Very, very sharp cookie and he doesn't like football. Maybe not such a surprise.

We may know the same chap - wasn't originally from 'Boro way was he? If so, he's a good mate of mine - and says much the same thing.

I know of someone who is inside the club but haven't seen him for a couple of years. He's still there (part of backroom team) I'll have to try and get some info through a mutual friend

Nope, nor is the chap I was referring to - lives local to me, but originally from Boro. Expresses a very similar sentiment to the one you describe. Recently very high up in the game - and we shared a few beers in a local pub this afternoon watching Lpool/Spurs.

Coincidence!

What a game. I can’t take finishes like that, far too tense. Goalie looks decent.

Firstly, bloody hell where did that come from?

New lad between the sticks looks very good indeed and Shelvey was superb, absolutely superb.

As to the article Ray, as I said very good I think and, I suspect, more than a grain of truth. I’ve said for some time I’m not 100% sure about Staveley. The figures that she’s supposed to command seem fanciful to me. I’ve always thought it more likely that she was the front, so to speak, of person(s) unknown.

Time will tell, a few more days like today, and the announcement of the TV deal next week may flush out the real bidders, if any.

Meanwhile, a great and needed result.

P.s. Ray, decent away point for your shower.

We played well overall and plenty effort put in by the whole team.
Goalie seems a great signing and I reckon saved the day on a couple of occasions.
At bloody last.

Further to Shelvey, what a belter he had. Let’s hope he can keep this standard up, because this is what he can do:
