It will be very sad Hairy, Goodison is a fantastic ground, nowhere quite like it when it’s rocking. My dad took me to my first game there in 1971 against Wolves, as did his dad in 1934!

But it is time to move on!

We don't wonder at all. It's jealousy pure and simple.

I do hope Ancelotti improves you though. Be good for the city.

I wouldn't have all your trophies if it came with all else that comes with your club thanks, as hilly says, you just don't know do you

Maybe he does or maybe he doesn't but I'm not sure that raking up the past is going to achieve anything Hilly, especially for those true Merseysider's with families in both camps. This particular 'red' seems to enjoy winding up other supporters, he strikes me as one of the Norwegian contingent but hopefully when he gets into the sixth form his behaviour will change. Merry Xmas blues, let's hope that the new stadium finally gets underway and we start to see some return on the massive investment.

Anyway. Enough about them.

Carlo is certainly making all the right noises.

From tomorrow's match programme.

You are right Hairy and in a few weeks time I think he will now where we have improve. I think if he can get Zlatan just for the remainder of this season, muddle through at the back he will be well aware what needed right across the squad, but as he said let’s points ensure safety.

Must be the reflection of the sound of falling coins in his pocket.

Good to see DCL getting another goal, he seems to get a lot of stick (I only make 4 or 5 home games a season now) and I hope the meatheads will now start backing him, he's still tender!

At least we got a win, Burnley set up to make life difficult (why wouldn't they?) and we don't really have the firepower to batter teams who do that, so I will settle for a winning start. Key thing is we don't want to get into a relegation scrap, I think it would get in the way of Carlo's project, so I hope we can amass another 15 points before February is out.

Carlo’s tactic of putting Kean on which was three up top, get the goal then revert to 4 4 2. Really warming to Carlo least he’s was not shy of trying different team set up which down the right did work.

Has anyone noticed Mina has been really solid the last 3 or 4 games? He looks like the player I thought we'd get when we signed him

Yep, he had a slow start with us but I really like him and Holgate, they like ok solid. Also impressed with Sidibe, he’s improving all the time and I’m beginning to ‘believe’ we will climb the table when we get a few back. I’m sure there’ll be changes for tomorrow, 2 games in 3 days is a lot for the likes of Coleman and for others returning like Delph.

Yeah I though Sidibe looked good pushed up the field as well. I think we've got an option to purchase built in to the loan deal as well
