If I were an opposition manager, I'd play two lines of 5, defend resolutely and hit spurs on the break..... We've been sussed and everyone plays us like that....

We need to score more from corners, given we win so many
We need to play over the top
We need to cross it and hope
We need to shot from outside the box

Or, we need to not push up so much, and make more space in midfield.... Invite them onto us

Unfortunately we look like we are trying to pass it at snails pace into the back of the next
What happened to our long ball to kane, he holds it up, brings in the midfield. Or hitting them with pace.
We were walking it up, allowing the to reform into their defensive wall

And we kept doing it..... Quick balls and a bit more width would have made the world of difference.

Shearer on MoTD noted the lack of enthusiasm to close down opposition players in the build up to Newcastle's goal at the weekend.

Why would a fat, Welsh, two-team Toby be posting on the Spurs thread scratchchin Still take your Thermos to the games you go to on your own?
Why would a West Ham fan white knight on the Spurs thread?

How weird.

Is that the date you started supporting Liverpool and follow the hoards of wums to the Spurs thread...but only after we lose.

You must be one of the born again Liverpool fans that seem to have come out of the basement blinking into the light. Sorry if I don't bother to know which one you are/were. Plastic.

COYS
Some very odd conclusions you've drawn there.

Your pal (not so) smartypants was giving "bants" about us not having a midfield hours after we dismantled Arsenal to remain the only unbeaten team in the PL while setting a club record for the most straight wins.

Meanwhile you lost to Newcastle who were without a win and bottom of the table.

If you dish it out, expect it back.

The majority of football chat the world over is about giving other fans/clubs stick and taking the piss.

Reap what you sow.
You don't like wum's so you wum. Brilliant. Genius.

Reap what I sow...what does that even mean? rofl
I wasn't wumming. Don't know how you took that from my post.

I was explaining that after one of your supporters slated our team (no midfield), and you then lost to the team at the bottom of the league, Liverpool fans might give some back.

I then said that's what the vast majority of football banter is. Taking the piss.

Reap what you sow was very obviously not directed personally you but at all fans. If you dish it out (especially as in this instance, to a team who are outperforming your own) then their fans will respond.

Still, you didn't dismiss his accusation. Says it all.

I bet you cant wait for open season on the Liverpool thread, wonder if it will be the Wummers or the fans who get it locked down first

I haven't read it for ages, it must be getting along fine as a few seasons ago it would be shutdown every week.

They're winning at the moment, still on a high from the CL, i imagine itll take 1 loss to revert back to normal, 'pool supporters back in here, the safe space to talk abut their team as they can't in their own thread. Cant wait...

CL draw tomorrow in Monaco, hope you'll realize you will never be as lucky as you were last season:

Just 1 point after 3 games in the group stages and winning the 4th game thanks to a 89 min. goal. And then that semi-final….

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/28/j...

Klopp:
He explained: “Last year we deserved it against Barcelona but we were lucky as well. Tottenham were lucky against Ajax. After the first game of the semis, I think everyone would have said the final will be Ajax Amsterdam versus Barcelona, but it was Tottenham and Liverpool. We needed Dembélé to shoot the ball somewhere [except into the goal] in the first game at Barcelona. You need luck in the right moments.”

Eriksen admits Spurs were 'lucky' in semi-final Christian Eriksen said Ajax played better football than Tottenham after Mauricio Pochettino's men won their Champions League semi-final.

That make Hornet "you reap what you sow" Rider's posts seem relevant and worthwhile.

It's good that you've moved on from Ajax's defeat & aren't displaying signs of being unwell in the face.

We only had to play Barcelona, Inter Milan, PSV, Dortmund, Man City and Ajax. Fortunately Ajax are no-mark, incompetent, gutless, bottlers, just like it would appear Dutch football fans are, so I guess you could say we got lucky in being drawn against them yes

Look at this defending! Hopeless. Some idiot on the line even tries to use his hand.

I mean, imagine being 3-0 up at home with only 45mins left to play and still losing? What monumental chokers! Not even a controversial goal to take solace in. Utter st. I imagine that their fans are still bitter and crying about their abject failure to this day......
