Can't believe people were actually talking about Utd being just one or two players away from a title shot. They'll be lucky to get top four this season IMO.
That's been the line trotted out for a few years now but they've bought big from back to front and not done anything with it.
The irony behind the fact that they've now become the "next year is our year" team.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen anyone post that on the Utd thread?
Hopes were dashed somewhat during the transfer window and summer, I don't recall anyone saying they expected to win it?
Funny because I'm pretty sure it's never been said on here either, apart from in jest.

Been here a while and never heard it said here other than in jest, and never on United thread.

Some daft stuff posted above IMHO, United have decent players but that are not being managed well (they have some dross too that shouldn’t be in a squad of their stature). I like Ole as a person but I don’t think he has the gravitas or reputation to marshal them.

Bruno and Greenwood are excellent, DDG is still very good, Rashford is an outstanding young man but can’t make my mind up about him as a footballer, sometimes looks great, sometime not but he is very young and will improve.

Don’t rate any of their defence or Matic / Fred / McTominay and I wouldn’t want that Instagram show pony Pogba anywhere near my team.

They would all look better with a better manager IMO but hopefully OGS is given lots more time hehe

That works both ways. We've been accused of saying stuff on here often enough. It's all silly nonsense, whoever says it.

Midfielder Naby Keita and defender Joel Matip have returned to full training says Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Thiago Alcantara remains sidelined but Klopp has not confirmed whether Keita and Matip will be involved in Italy.

Quite the opposite for me, feared the worst after 17/18. The character shown to come back after that disappointment and smash the next season can't be overestimated IMO.

Hope he's fit for the weekend but even if he is I'd imagine a start from the bench is most likely.

Keita perhaps more likely to get some game time in Europe, perhaps? Assuming he's fit enough. I would have thought when Joel is ready he'll be back in Prem games.

With our current injuries I think Matip goes straight back in as our first choice CB.

Given his fragility and the 2 games a week schedule into January, I honestly can't see Klopp using him for every game. Or at least 90 minutes for every game.

8! The last one about win percentage was a pure guess though.

Good opportunity for Rhys Williams. He's looked composed thus far.

Meanwhile, Ajax have at least 11 players out with Covid.

Not much of a surprise that Firmino has been benched. No surprise Klopp has gone for that midfield. I would have preferred the front 4 formation with Firmino in the deeper role that we played against Sheff Utd.

First 11 rotation is going to be a thing, so however Kloppo rocks it is good with me. If it all goes tits up, Firmino is on the bench, so all good.
