Didn't seem to have much of a change of pace once we went 2-1 down.
Baines and Barry looked a bit flatfooted, maybe still not fit,I think the midweek team would of given them a better game,
And an eight game unbeaten run comes to an end,

I thought Eto was poor personally, didn't offer much at all in terms of passing and was happy to see him substituted. We had no answer to Spurs pressure which is very disappointing, but let's hope that we can improve. I certainly think we're a match for most teams man for man, but Spurs played as well as I've seen them play this season and deserved the win, though we could've snatched a draw at the death.
Eto was playing so deep he was pretty much a centre midfielder, that said I think your being a little harsh I thought you played well at times and could have quite easily come away with a point.
and a mention for Ross Barkley, what a player you have on your hands. I don't think ive ever seen a better teenager.

We weren't match fit in several areas..... simple.
Eto didn't get an service, Barry gave the ball away, Baines looked uninterested or tired, and Barkley kept getting caught in possession.
We gave spurs possession for both goals and they flooded forward in attack.
I can't believe it's fitness, not at this stage of the season. I think we're just too slow going forward, Lukaku proved how good he is in the Wolfsburg game, when we move it at pace, but against Spurs we were trying to walk it in, very frustrating.Eto didn't get an service, Barry gave the ball away, Baines looked uninterested or tired, and Barkley kept getting caught in possession.

Barry and Baines were injured though - think Martinez brought them back to early?Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
