Maureen binned him off at Chelsea, and rightly so. I'm so glad we (the Champions) didn't get him. At £30m he would be fine, but at £75m....rofl Some of my fellow fans think he's the new Drogba, but he's more like the new Heskey.

We've dodged a bullet by missing out on him.
Jose didn't bin him off. Lukaku has said in interviews that it was his choice to leave.
Did he submit a transfer request?

It was his choice to sign for Everton but only once Maureen had decided to bin him off.....I guess he could have refused to sign for Everton and seen out the rest of his contract training with the kids. If Jose wanted to keep him, he could have.

As an Everton supporter for more years then I care to remember I have watche Rom quite a lot and from my observations on his day he is unplayable and brilliant, but in quite a few games he goes AWOL. He will score goals no doubt and if he hits it off with those around him then double figures is certain. For us he has been a cash cow only paid 27m sold for 75m. Koeman is a manger who likes all the team to be goal scorers hence the players he as bought, it's going to be interesting this season. Good luck to Romthanks for the memories and the goals.

PS just hope he does not score against us.

Why would any professional footballer WANT to train with the kids and not the first team? Don't be daft.

So is Nicholas Bendtner. It the frequency of those days that matters.

Who said he would want to confused

If he hadn't have "chosen" to leave for Everton, the alternative would have been to train with the kids, once Jose had made it clear he was no longer in his plans.

In some respects; certain players, style....yes, you are bang average at the moment and are trying to buy your way out of it. Griezmann, Morata....loss of interest by Mourinho is a thin veil over the fact that they don't want to come. Replace them with Lukaku...ok...
morata wants to come, madrid wont drop their price.Griezman wanted to come but depending on what you read united changed priority or the transfer ban for athletico made him change his mind, but regardless post on UWS about 2 months ago saying lukaku was main target,in fact I'm sure several papers mentioned it.

Proven 20 goals a season in the premier league. 24 years old about to hit his peak years. Fast, physical presence and already great mates with Pogba.

Should settle right in and not be the type of stellar name that would not upset the development of Rashford and Martial.

He was supposed to be main target but we went for Morata as it appeared Chelsea was ahead in negotiations. I read the same.

Nothing like a bit a transfer noise to bring out the ABU's......I suppose there is nothing much else going on with their clubs to shout home about.

I'm sorry but that's bks rofl

Kane scored twice against Arsenal and once against United. = 3 in 10 potential games (although he missed a few through injury)

Lukaku scored 4 in 12

The graphic is with 6/7 games still to be played....(9th April)

How many games was it before Ian Rush scored against United? Was he st?

Stats stats stats

What was Lukaku 2nd top scorer?

This is Mourinho why the fk does it matter if he scores against the top 6. All we do is park the bus and eek out a nil nil. A flat track bully is exactly what we need, according to the ABU drivel on here. No wonder there all worried. It was the draws at home against the so called lesser teams that cost us last year.

My concern here is that Lukaku determines the style of play we'll adopt. Unless you play to his strengths then whats the point of buying him? Jose knows this and thats why I'm a little uncomfortable if I'm honest.

I think it's Pogba the teams being built round.

I'm a little concerned that Lukaku only managed so many goals because of the open way teams tend to set up against Everton. For all the accusations (often with a fair amount of foundation) about United parking the bus, I think it's equally reasonable to say we do encounter fairly defensive opposition tactics a lot more often than Everton would.
The price-tag seems a little stiff to me even in today's market but hey-ho, if it goes through I'm hopefully going to be proved wrong.
What puzzles me though is why don't we just pay RM their asking price? Is it really worth missing out on a decent player that wants to come for the sake of £10m? The way the prices are, every player will be another £20m next summer anyway.

Desperation? Reports are Jose wanted him so not sure where desperation comes into it.

Everton have big backers now so they can ask what they want for him.
