Australia playing a better version of their standard game - work hard, don’t let the other team in, make a few chances. Often let down by that third step which can mean draws or losses to mediocre teams, but, when it works, occasional wins against supposedly superior teams. They’d be happy with 0-0 at half time.

He did clip the ball. However, after griegman played the ball forward the Aussie then went on to clip the Frenchman’s foot from behind sending him over. As the ball, when clipped, didn’t go away from the Frenchman enough for it to be deemed a tackle, it was still clearly still in play and still under his control. I think this is why it wasn’t given, it’s not the contact with the ball it’s the immediate contact after it which brings down the French striker.

It was an ineffectual tackle and then when he slid through it became a foul.

VAR Ian rubbish it shouldn’t have been given because we shouldn’t have been looking at it again. But there was enough reason to give the pen.

Did the French handball even bring a card? Mental.

VAR is bks. That's never a pen. In a way I'm glad they've messed it up. I want VAR to die a death.
