Celtic in danger of dropping points here if they don't up their game.
Very poor up front today. No ideas to break through a well organised defence. Always a tricky place to visit but I’m sure Lennon is currently pointing out to the team that they need to get more creative against packed defences, and not just keep trying the same thing over and over. Oh, and James, stop cutting inside and run to the byline just once in a while.Didnt watch either of the games today but I just caught the highlights.
Rangers looked comfortable. In particular, Morelos looked like he'd had a word with himself. His workrate and hunger seemed to be much improved from what we've seen lately. Involved in all 3 goals.
Celtic seemed all out of ideas. They seemed to have the same issue Rangers had last season when confronted with a defencively structured side. 70% possesion but no final ball or clear cut chances to kill the game. Its a bit early in the season to be worrying about a couple of dropped points but 10IAR is definately not a foregone conclusion.

I watched some of the Rangers game and all of the Celtic. Both games were s
t to be honest. Both lacked intensity and nobody was creating much.
Before Morelos scored Rangers fans were demanding he was taken off for being poor again.
The lack of crowds and atmosphere is a killer. German football didn't work, but the English games were a bit better. We aren't doing well from what I've seen so far.

Edinburger with three correct scores today. Jammy.
Early season form means nothing... as StevieG said in his post match interview “no-one will get carried away."![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)
Tuesday 11th August
Dundee Utd 18:00 Hibernian 1-1
Wednesday 12th August
St Mirren 18:00 Celtic 0-3
Aberdeen 19:45 Hamilton 1-1
Motherwell 19:45 Livingston 1-0
Rangers 19:45 St Johnstone 2-1
Ross County 19:45 Kilmarnock 1-1
I'm not sure if it has been confirmed if the Aberdeen game is going ahead or not?
They were very lucky to get the St Johnstone game rescheduled and not having to forfeit the game.

Agreed 100%I'm not sure if it has been confirmed if the Aberdeen game is going ahead or not?

Personally I think they should have been given the option of fielding a team using whatever players they had or forfeit the match.
It was the government that postponed the St Johnstone game. Still not know what sanction will be applied. As far as the radio news saying tonight the game tomorrow is on, but that (and Saturday’) game will be without the ‘Aberdeen-8’. Personally I think that whenever the Saints game is played, Aberdeen should withdraw the 8.
That's another footballer helping create a storm. Boli-Boligoli went to Spain for a little break during the week. He failed to tell Celtic and he didn't isolate as required either. Straight back to training and came on against Killie at the weekend.
It does explain why Celtic were so poor at the weekend. One game back and they already get four days off training? Is it any surprise the players were rusty?
There is going to be players test positive going about their normal lives. If they keep breaking the strict guidelines for football going ahead, and there is more positive tests, then it's going to backfire on football.

Wow... I hope the club heavily discipline or preferably get rid of him. He’s useless anyway. It does explain why Celtic were so poor at the weekend. One game back and they already get four days off training? Is it any surprise the players were rusty?

It'll be interesting to see what happens. He can't use an error of judgement excuse either. No way in this world did he not realise it wasn't allowed. The fact he tried to hide it says it all.
He did test negative twice, but that isn't the important part. Imagine if he did test positive?
Hopefully the rest of the players heed the warnings from the last week. Somehow I don't think it'll be the last we hear.

Celtic match postponed

Edit to add, in my view it has f
k all to do with Sturgeon, she's sticking her nose in where its not required.
The SFA should be holding teams to account for their players actions and applying appropriate sanctions.

I have to agree with that. The football authorities should be all over this, deciding whether individual games should go ahead and applying sanctions for breaking the rules. Unsustainable precedents are being set by the government who appear to be making rules up on the hoof and unilaterally cancelling games at will. When more players start catching covid it will be a complete non starter.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/53729446

Why can't she leave it to the SFA to make sanctions or other? Surly she's discussed this with them or gone off and just decided for them anyway....shambles.
I think if teams have 11 players that have followed all protocols and tested negative etc the games can be played. I guess she's spoken to UEFA too as aren't Aberdeen playing next Tuesday??
She needs to get off her high horse and sort out her exam failure rather than deflecting it all onto how bad footballers are.
Completely agree the players involved should be fined etc though.
