I wish we were playing today. I think the atmosphere at Goodison would be electric and we'd give anyone a game right now
I’ve been wishfully thinking similar, like this could actually be a real turning point, but it’s Everton. I do think they’ve opened a real can of worms here, I’m hearing that our appeal will centre around the dismissal of our mitigating circumstances and the arbitrary nature of the punishment. Looks like Everton could be proper fked!

Further 9 point deduction and £300m fine! Wtf?

What are the mitigating circumstances - all the players you bought were st and so you didn't gain any competitive advantage?
Loss of sponsorship from Russia and "player x" who we could neither play nor sell so had to write him off the books whilst still playing him. We valued him at £10m, panel said that's not his true value but allegedly we had a bid of £12m for him before his alleged charges.Acorn1 said:

A) I wouldn't believe anything the Mail writeshttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article...

B) the panel said we didn't get a competitive advantage
C) surely they need to chase the PL as its them that took the time to bring the case; and they were signing our accounts off and set us a salary cap to keep us on the right side financially
D) we could only relegate 1 club per season for being ste
I'm also ignoring the fact that Leicester broke ffp to get in to the PL in the first place. So could that could trigger claims from other clubs against them?

Our defence is quite easy, we never set the time for the outcome the PL did or their adjudicators did we cannot be held responsible for that

Ffs we'll have Arsenal suing us for beating them 1-0 and "derailing" their title bid next
WTF are Leeds suing us for? That if the points had gone on last season, they'd have finished 18th instead of 19th?? I'm not seeing the 100m loss...
How much are we suing Collina for for the dodgy reffing in the CL qualifier in 2005? If we'd got through that we'd probably have won the whole thing and used the cash to (legitimately) dominate the PL for the next 15 years. It's got to be 500m, minimum
Ireland should sue Henry for the handball goal. Denied them a clear run at winning the world cup.
Etc
Having got all that off my chest, Leicester (and Burnley if they finished 17th the preceding season) have a bona fida issue...with the PL and their rules. We submitted our accounts for this period years ago (I think?) and the issue has been rumbling on since then.
A 6 point deduction would (perhaps) have relegated us / "saved" them from a season in the championship, of which Burnley bounced straight back up with 100 points, and Leicester look set to do similar. So they are both down 100m TV money, but up a parachute payment which is quite high in the first year I think?
NB Obviously they can't both be affected, we'd only have got relegated once. Maybe they can sue each other

I’ve read similar, but it’s a rather bizarre response to say that we didn’t get a competitive advantage, how is that decided and by who? I think that’s their (and our) get out of gaol card to push back against future litigation, strikes me as a joke.B) the panel said we didn't get a competitive advantage
