''Swans sensation Michu has given the club a timely boost ahead of tonight’s Capital Once Cup semi-final against Chelsea by signing a new four-year contract.
The 26-year-old had no hesitation in putting pen to paper on a one-year extension that will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until 2016.
“It was an easy decision for me,’’ declared Michu. “I am living a dream here at Swansea.
“I’m probably enjoying my football more than ever. It’s easy to play with this team and tonight I have the chance to reach the first final of my career.
“I’m really happy here in the city with the people, the club and the fans. Everyone has been so nice to me since I arrived.
“I think the club are happy with me because they have given me a new contract. I am certainly happy with the club.’’
While questions have also been asked if the Swans can hold on to such a talent, Michu was quick to reiterate: “I’m happy here.
“I’ve read and listened to all the speculation, but it doesn’t interest me, and that's why I've signed a new contract.
"I’m enjoying myself too much because the team always tries to play football. All I think about is the next game and helping Swansea be successful. This is my life.’’

Utterly stunning performance.
I could count one decent save Tremmel had to make from Mata, and an effort wide from Demba Ba and that is about it.
We had three or four gilt edge chances to bury it but we were understandably tentative in the final third.
Our team spirit was summed up by Michu, in the 92nd minute, having run around all game chasing down the centre-halves. As a Swans counter-attack was snuffed out, Ramires broke for Chelsea. Michu ran 40 yards back and put in a brilliant sliding tackle to dispossess him. Just brilliant.
So proud to be a Jack.
Never thought I would ever see us in the Prem, let alone a major cup final with a chance of Europe, in my lifetime!

Proper club, lovely football, decent manager, and players who work their socks off. Fantastic, and my favourite team in the league.
By that you mean a club that seemingly brings in ballboys in order to timewaste? That 'kicked chap' tweeted before the game that was what he was there to do. TheHeretic said:

Oh come on, I doubt he is the only ball-boy in the land that has wasted time. He acted like an idiot but the reaction was worse than the crime. If Hazard was annoyed he should have moaned to the ref.Amd just because he bigs himself up to his cretin mates on Twitter does not mean we "hired" him to waste time.
I wish it had never happened as it has taken the shine off what a polished performance over two legs we put in to beat the current European Champions.

You mean the thing Glenn Hoddle relayed to us was completely the norm? ie if you're winning throw it back slowly, if you're losing throw it back quickly?Ballboy was a complete dick and took it too far overegging his pudding, but I can't see how that is the club's fault. Also they can't have envisioned him being bundled to the ground and kicked by an opposing player.
Still, it didn't affect the outcome of the match and the Swans are deservedly on their way to Wembley.
Unfortunately clubs started this throw-in gamesmanship with their multi-ball strategy for when they were losing at home (a spare ball arrives back on the pitch side almost as the oriinal ball is crossing the line for the throw-in). The original ball is completely forgotten and the home players know to immediately carry on playing with the new ball and not even bother pausing to consider retrieving the original ball...
...versus...
...actually waiting for the ball boy to retrieve the original ball when they were winning thus taking up valuable playing time.
Ball boys were instructed that this was the strategy that is employed, ergo the gamesmanship started with them.
I believe, but am not sure, that this practice has been stamped out now.
