Well, at least its 3 points. Not convincing but still 3 points. And good news Sturridge lasted 90 minutes.
Exactly, forget the turmoil and the rubbish going on, while a match is being played we have to get those points.
Thankfully we did and bizarrely, the table doesn't look so bad!

How did we line up? 4-3-3?

That Gestede for Villa can really head the ball!

Sturridge last goal was very well taken.

Everton, Palace, Watford and West Brom could go above us this weekend yet smile

Pleased to see Sturridge back. It's like finding a £40m striker down the back of the sofa.

Sturridge needs to teach the rest of the squad how to strike a football!

I love watching him finish, I so hope he can stay fit this season smile

Yes but he only has another 147 minutes of football left before his next 4 month injury recovery period.

Clocks a ticking.

Rodgers doing better the Maureen - who'd have thought it.

Play with 2 mobile strikers and Coutinho playing behind and we score goals, who'd have thought it would be so simple. Just shows even more how stupid we've been in the transfer market.

Shame this 3412 formation has 2 wing backs that seem to struggle getting crosses in or beating their man. Maybe Ibe in one of these roles. I'm sure we'll carry on playing this until it goes wrong and then he'll make something else up.

I actually like the 3412 by the way. I'd modify it and have Can playing as a sweeper in front of Skrtel and Sakho instead of as a right sided centre back, but what do I know...

Our keeper is still crap at the basics.

2 Strikers with Coutinho behind seems key to me?

Agree regarding Can, he really does look suited to a sweeper style role.

The Derby is looking massive now for BR.

Football is a weird place. Thursday morning Rodgers and Mcclaren looked set to be put down like dieing dogs. Now this morning everything is all rosy, meanwhile Dick Advocaat is free from any media hysteria.

Journalists have their easy targets. I guess Advocaat isn't on the list yet - or just drum up enough interest.

Great 3 points but thats all it is, We need to score 2 every game as we cannot defend, against a very crap Villa we looked ok, against a less crap Spurs and Everton the emperors new clothes will be on display.

I fully expect the next 3 games to be draws or losses (Sion I dont know about but hope not to lose) and the pressure to be fully on again.

Sadly if past form is anything to go by then now we will go on a mad 10 game wining run and Rodgers will be the best thing since sliced bread.

Just seen sturidges first goal, what a finish that was!

Your season will be defined by how many games he plays I think.
