Sad for Freddie and Ipswich aren’t having a lot of luck.

Shame for Freddie. Ipswich look down and out, too.

No, they look doomed, pity.

Shame for FS, nasty injury.

Ginger Pele playing up there now as well.

Hopefully the short summer break will do wonders for the squad as it did last year!
Short break - why? (unless I'm due a d'oh).
All that ranting at them heading off to Miami last year, after that we had a great run of results!

Aah. Thought you meant that the break between seasons is going to be shorter.

Yes, sorry, should have said 'sunny break' rather than summer d'oh!

Fair few reports that WHU are going to offload Matsuaku in the summer. Hopefully get our money back on him circa £6m.

Certainly looks a damn sight fitter on the pitch now - heard a couple of interviews with him recently; speaks well.

To be fair we have sometimes played him out of position. He’s ok going forward and has good feet but an appalling left back imo.

From memory I believe we did!

Good article on Antonio. I watched a YT video of a few of the West Ham boys taking shots in a competition and he was by far the best finisher even with Lanzini involved in it.

Just heard the very sad news that Gordon Banks has died. He was probably the best goalkeeper I ever saw and we could have signed him. Our manager at the time was Ron Greenwood and he turned the deal down as he had a ‘Gentleman’s Agreement’ to buy Bobbile Ferguson instead.

A manager could get fired for a decision like that nowadays.

Indeed, as member of the goalkeepers union I reckon I’ve watched” that save” over 100 times even though at the time I was only five.
He probably inspired more youngsters to be keepers than anyone else before or since. I can even remember the news broadcast that told us he’d been in a car crash, eventually losing his eye.
First I wanted to be him, then I wanted to be Shilts, but I ended up closer to Mcnightmare.
Thanks for the great memories Gordon ..

Great news for England, and has probably added 50% to his transfer value too.

He is going to get a lot of st off the Irish support for sure, but given his rapid rise can see him getting straight into England squads.
