Very lucky. I still don't understand why the goal livi scored was chopped off? At the same time rangers may have been onside aswel so you could argue that's evened out. I'd rather the correct decision for both though.
Anyway, Rangers defence looks remarkably weaker without bassey, and the midfield missing some penetration without aribo. Keep up those slow starts and it'll cost alot of points. Again everyone's rusty, and having European qaulifiers may just work in there favour to get the rust off quicker.
Celtic have a tougher challenge tomorrow with aberdeens new look team. Leagues looking good this year and it's going to be tight.

Aberdeen fans are unusually optimistic about the upcoming season. They have high hopes. I'm expecting a few teams to show good improvement this year. I don't think Motherwell, St Johnstone or Kilmarnock are at the levels they need to be.

I hadn't heard about Souttar's brother, really bizarre to have played him given the circumstances. Bizarre refereeing from Robertson to arrange Cancar's substitution rather than send him off, clearly he's still in friendly mode.
I can't see how Colak's goal is judged to be offside. Worse still, var was present and could have corrected the linesman. Surely the correct decision is the most important thing. In the end, glad to have the three points from a difficult away tie on an atrocious surface. A game we would have dropped points in last season but the new additions already making the difference. Good to see Kent get his first assist too!
Late goals in other spl games may indicate it will be tight between teams this season. Dundee also off to a bad start in the championship after relegation.
I reckon he’s obviously wanted to play but gio should have took the decision out of his hands. Think the fact that cancar was immediately subbed showed how bad his decision was. A rare listen to superscoreboard and they were laughing at how comical it was.I can't see how Colak's goal is judged to be offside. Worse still, var was present and could have corrected the linesman. Colak was onside for me, the linesman clearly couldn’t see the player on the other side of him but thats where var should have stepped in. Like you say in the end it didn’t matter and it was the deserved result.
The livi disallowed goal was from the clear wrestling of tav at the front post. The only people contesting it seem to be Celtic fans

Think you need to get a life mate.
You obviously have a hatred of Rangers and although you claim to have watched the game I don’t think football is your sport.
Honestly wasting your time mate, best ignored.Think you need to get a life mate.

Best ignored? I completely blanked you for months. I didn't read or respond to any of your posts. Yet anytime I posted you were quote, quote, quote. I'd genuinely love it if you could ignore me if you can't be civilised, but you can't.
I did hope this thread would be better this season after a quiet spell. It has already sank into unreasonable excuses, unjust official blaming and insults immediately.
Can we not agree to make it better?

I agree Rangers looked rusty while Livingston looked like a team that has played four more competitive games. Unfortunately missing quite a few players at the moment too, including replacements for Aribo and Bassey. Once everyone is up to speed we'll be fine, just a matter of how quickly we get there.Anyway, Rangers defence looks remarkably weaker without bassey, and the midfield missing some penetration without aribo. The therangers machine has gone into overdrive 1st game of the season even though they won.
God knows what will happen when they lose.
Overdrive- talk about dramatic.God knows what will happen when they lose.
Happy with a deserved win, thanks.
Joe Aribo scored a cracker yesterday.
My lad (a Saints fan) is well chuffed with his signing.

Folk talking about VAR I thought there isn’t any until later in the season?
It's not going to be used until later in the season. They are running trials in the background at some of the games. It was at the Livingston game yesterday and Celtic v Aberdeen today. Edited by Driver101 on Sunday 31st July 12:20

Sportscene said it should have stood and also Livingston should have had a penalty. So very lucky and not just celtic fans.
Martindale was also of the opinion that Kamara should have been sent off. However here you are repeating Martindales claim that Kamara should have been sent off.
When Martindale claimed at the time, he turned away and laughed as he was at it. Kamara didn’t touch the guy he jumped up in the air in an effort to get him sent off.
Stop trying to justify why you think Rangers should have got beat.
We get it, you don’t like Rangers and it clouds your judgement.
Haters gonna hate.

It didn't say it wasn't a yellow. Sometimes you get a yellow for it, sometimes you don't. The tackle is nowhere near as bad as some people are trying to make out.
It's unbearable the amount of pressure Rangers fans are trying to put on the officials after one game. A game where key decisions also went for Rangers.

I will leave the thread for you to pore over every Rangers decision.
Enjoy.

The ref blew the whistle before the ball went in. You can argue if it's a foul or not but it was never a disallowed goal. VAR wouldn't intervene in this case. I actually think we may see more play being carried on and then reviewed with VAR when it is introduced. Personally, I think there were two fouls. The Celtic v Aberdeen game was a bit up and down. After scoring earlier it looked like it was going to be a big scoreline. Celtic were wasteful and overplaying far too much.
The game fizzled out in the second half for a while, before a brilliant strike by Jota. I'm still surprised a player of his quality stayed in Scotland.
Aberdeen missed a big chance on the first half, but after the hype from Aberdeen fans I did expect more from them. They couldn't get into the game.
