Well he's a man of his word so I dont see why he wont. Dein will take over with Kroenke eventually anyway and in the meantime the board will sanction anything Wenger wants so as not to upset him.

The bottom line is this, I am a football fan and some of best days following the Arse were when the Spuds had a half decent team (Gazza, Lineker etc) the last 10 years has seen the games become increasingly meaningless to Gooners as our main rivals have been Liverpool Manure and Chelkski. Your whole season each year seems to revolve around two games against us, even to the embarrasing point of acting like you had won the league when you got a draw.

The worst thing you can do is rip Jol to pieces as he is your best chance of success. That said spending 17m on Bent instead of a creative midlfielder and adequate defensive cover was total folly. You already had 3 excellent forwards so why buy Bent? Although now Berbatov is injured you might need him.

As for us, what we lost with Henry is made up for by having Fabregas making chances at will. I have always beleived wide play and creative midfielders win trophies, not forwards. Time will tell whether Da Silva is the answer as he is injured too.
I hope you're right about Wenger - men of their word are quite rare when big money floats around.
I'm all for sticking with Jol - £17Mil for Bent may seem excessive but we need cover for Berbatov (he was out for a few months last season as well) and whilst a creative midfielder wouldn't go amiss it's not as if they grow on trees. There are a lot of games again this season (if we have good cup runs again) and I suspect injury attrition will be a deciding factor for the top spots. Jol did buy more defenders but having four on the injury list doesn't help (Robinson had no faith in his defenders on Tuesday night so kept coming off his line when he shouldn't have done) .
I love my football - (and Rugby - c'mon the Exiles) and enjoy all the games (even if I'm crying into my pint - That 5-4 game at WHL couple of season's back was a cracker even though we lost) and don't take anything that happens on the pitch personally (I even drink regulary with an Arsenal fan, Bolton boy, Norwich supporter and Palace fan) .
Roll on Saturday....

Did anyone hear on TalkSport the guy who rang in and said that Jenas is only made to look crap by having to do the work of two and in fact it's Zokora who is a waste of space...?

Yep, I think he has a point. Zokora is garbage for 8 mill. Him hugging all the Arsenal players before the derby last year was cringeworthy. One of the callers said Jenas is the worst Spurs player in their history, which is complete rubbish. Worse than Illie Dumitrescu?

If you think Dumitrecsu is the worst Spurs player ever, then you obviously never witnessed the talent that was Paulo Tremazzani........

I have to say neither made much an impression on me on the few ocassions I saw them, but my mate Paul insists they are the worst players he ever saw at Highbury.

Stepanovs was legendary. However, Gus Ceasar is the worst player I have ever seen. And close behind was Lee Chapman, who my Dad aptly re-named Lee Chip-pan half way through his home debut much to the amusement of the clock end Gooners stood around us that day!

hehe

The words "speed" and "chapman" don't go in the same sentence! He came on as sub for Sheffield Weds against us one year and was so pathetic Howard Wilkinson took him back off 25 mins later much to the derision of the crowd! I didn't laugh as much again for years until we pelted Gazza with Mars bars and he went off in tears!

Talking of Gazza he was the best player I ever saw playing for the yids, a shame he ruined his career with that stupid tackle on Gary Charles.

Thank for that.
That's a step in the right direction at least.

Agreed! Hardly the best opposition in the league but I'll take the 3 points, the 4 goals, Bent getting off teh mark and Jenas showing his potential - if only he'd play like that consistantly (along with Huddelstone) then I'd be very happy.

Decent win today guys, MJ rang the changes, bought Hudds back in dumped Zorkora to the subs bench and Routledge had a decent game. Team looked a lot more balanced, and I thought Derby were lucky to get away from the Lane losing only 4-0.

Check the table gooners I do beleive we are above you, might not last long but just wanted to make that point.

Oh by the way, why dont you immigrants get your own sodding thread, instead of trying to infect this one.

Always a strange smell about the place after you lot have been on..........
