After all the raised expectations this week, it was nice to see City play well and get a deserved victory. Great strike from Bellamy at the end too! Early days, but things are looking a lot more positive than they were a few weeks ago! biggrin
How can it be fair that CCFC have even been allowed to take Bellamy on loan, the guy is on £85k a week, and although Man City are paying the bulk of that Cardiff still owe clubs money from transfers last season. Discuss?
Scroll a bit further down the sports page, we already have. Its not really fair, but its the way football is going. As i put on the other thread, i'm more jealous than anything, but if hes been cleared to play then so be it.
To be honest, i don't think anyone would have an issue if Bellamy had signed for their club. As i said on the other thread, Man City were reported to have issues with him going to another Prem club and may have gone out of their way to avoid that once Cardiff said they wanted him and Bellamy gave some indication that he'd play for his home town club. The rest is history.

Personally i don't have a clue what's going on with the club's finances and i think he should still be playing Premiership football, but if Bellamy's signing at Cardiff winds a few Jacks and Bristol City fans up, then that's fine with me.
Of course we would have wanted Bellamy, name me a Championship club that wouldn't. The fact is CCFC don't act with any integrity in paying their debts first, unlike other clubs. I think it's Kilmarnock that they still owe £150k too. Pay your debts and then you can sign who you like.

Crap day at the office for us with a rare defeat at Leeds, credit though, they deserved it. Now looking foward to Boro at home on Tuesday in the cup and Coventry in the league on Saturday. Would have taken 6 from 9 before the start of the season, so I'm happy enough with the progress so far.

I agree Steve, in all honesty i wish the news of Cardiff signing CB was met as a big deal for the club - a positive thing and yet due to their financial situation its been quite the opposite.

To answer your original question though, its not fair and by all accounts their are other clubs who are taking advantage of this so maybe its something the FA will need to look into for the future.

Notts Forest next weekend, gonna be tough, but they seem to have had a stuttering start to the season and still looking for that first win.
"Notts" furious If you come to the game please don't say Notts out loud when referring to Forest. Doesn't go down too well. hehe
We always have stuttering starts frown Didn't get a win for the first 9 games last season. You seemed sharp on saturday though. Should be a decent game.

We were pretty lucky to get the win. Swansea had plenty of chances and at the other end, both Holt (by his standards and despite 2 assists) and Hoolahan had poor games. Then we had five minutes of luck in the penalty save and the og and then an excellent finish from Jackson to seal the win. We've recovered from that poor first game well and the defence has tightened up, but i have concerns over how well they'll cope with Earnie. As you say, potentially a decent game. As a Forest fan, what are your views on Holt? He was awesome for us last season and scored a great header last week, Didn't he play more as a winger for you guys?

To be honest I went off football for a while a few years ago and therefore didn't see much of him. But from what I remember he was alright. Think he got the player of the season in 06 or 07? But spent most of the time on the bench and still got top goal scorer hehe

I wouldn't be too worried about Earny, He is only good when he's got the supply. Which we seem to be lacking at the minute. (His goal this weekend aside:laugh) Hope Majewski pulls his finger out this game. He can totally flip a game on its head on his day. We've also got Gunter on a 3 match ban.

I'd still like to think with home advantage we will just nick it from you. Good luck for the season.

Listening to the commentry today, sounds like we should've won. Forest got a soft penalty, perhaps shoud've been one a little earlier, but we hit the post twice and Holty should've scored when one on one. You lot hit our post as well towards the end. Sounds like an entertaining game and i suppose a fair result. I would have took a draw before the game so not too disappointed. Also sounded like your fans are starting to turn on your manager, heard a few boos at some of the subs and a lot of groans.

Anyway, we're sitting nicely in 7th after 4 games, long way to go in the season, but i'm very happy with our start.

Entertaining? It was like watching paint dry. Was the worst I have seen us play in a long time. The penalty was soft yes, but the original one on dex that wasn't given was a stone waller. Not taking anything away from your lot though as it looks as though you came with a game plan and we just couldn't get going. We had Earny playing right back most of the game hehe
Yes you are sitting better than us, good luck for the rest of the season mate.

yep, cant deny the R's looking good, finally seem to have found the right setup with some good signings. A good win for Norwich yesterday, bouncing back after a poor performance in midweek. So 7 games in, and we're 4th. We're looking decent at the back and always pose a threat going forward. Hull and Leicester to come at hom in the next 2 weeks and i'm confident we can collect 4 points.

Off to Vicarage Road tomorrow night to watch my mighty Swans lose to Watford....

....paying £27 for the pleasure.

Not been to a match for a long time - is that an average charge for a Tuesday night away tariff?

27 quid is not too bad. QPR's ticket prices are a pisstake although, i'm not moaning too much this season.
Roll on tuesday so we can spank the pikey boys! (Millwall). Mwhahahahaha

I couldn't tell you. Despite being a loyal Watford fan through thin and thin, I've stopped going, I object to paying that much when I could get far more bang for my buck elsewhere.

27 is not that bad at all. Forests cheapest tickets are £30. Bar the bi-yearly kids for a quid to the worst two matches of the season.
