Would make sense if Arsne hadn't of been the one to do the rejecting.
Not sure you'll find many gooners disappointed with that decision now.

Cesc who?

Cesc who?
yes

If the Gooners had wanted him they could have had him. It's also worth noting that he was touted round all the Top 4 clubs and only Chelsea were interested

So this must be the reason he didn't go to United,

Fair enough I guess,

Last I checked, they finished out of the TOP 4, clubs only as good as their last season. Not sure how much clearer you can make that statement rolleyes

Well done Andre Schurller. Great cross for the winner and only the 3rd player in our history to win the world cup as a Chelsea player (after Lebeoff and Desailly).

Yeah, thought he had a good world cup, looking forwards to seeing him playing next season.

Still can't believe we got £50 million for David Luiz.

I'm convinced there's some kind of underhand ffp shenanigans going on there but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Even before his Brazilia Horribilis he was nowhere near 20m of a player.

Absolutely bizarre transfer. Will be keeping an eye on dealings around PSG over the next couple of years.

Gary Neville, I think it was towards the beginning of last season...and if memory serves quite a few Chelsea supporters were in rather vociferous disagreement with him. I guess that now he's not a Chelsea player those same fans aren't disagreeing as loudly...not to mention all the other 'talking heads' bringing this up.

Dont get me wrong I think Luiz is a superb player but not £50 million.

I don't think PSG give a fig about FFP.

The French league is not big enough to support a team winning anything major these days within the FFP framework. I suspect they know this.

After his initial indiscipline he managed to sort himself out a bit more with Benitez and had an ok season, mainly because he was deployed as a midfielder. He is not worth £50mil by a long way and Jose must've been giggling when PSG offered to buy him for that much. He was a disaster in the world cup as his main weakness is his hubris. If he controlled himself he could be a great player.

Well done to Schurrle. He had a good tournament as super sub and scored some great goals, but his cross was superb last night and what a finish by Gotze. Let's hope he swings in a few crosses like that for Costa.

I think it's easy to be critical of Luiz after what's happened, and, yes, it's hard to see how he can be worth £50 million. However, I think you need to think about what his manager asked him to do during the matches. I can't believe for one minute that Jose (with JT alongside him on the park) would have allowed him to play like he did. But we'll never know, because Big Phil was the man responsible for writing the stuff on the whiteboard in the dressing room.

As far as Costa is concerned, rumour is that he'll pitch up in London tomorrow, and will be presented in a Chelsea shirt on Wednesday.

Which leaves us with the search for a Left Back. Atlético seem to be unwilling to let Filipe Luis go. It would be nice if we could pull that one off in this transfer window.

We've also yet to resolve the striker dilemma though.

Who are the second and third choices ?

What is going to happen with Lukaku ?

And then there is the Courtois/Cech situation.

Suspect there is still quite a bit of business yet....
