Wheres the proof that he was dropped because of this?
He is without argument better than Cahill, Jones, and Lescott and he is also better than Terry although I am sure someone will try and argue otherwise.

Ergo he was not dropped for footballing reasons.
Says you.

At the time Rio was dropped he was vastly inferior to Terry so it could well have been for footballing reasons.

Vastly inferior to Terry? that will be that sense of humour again that you say CIE has been lacking.

Forget the petty arguments, wheres the proof/source/link I asked for that says Rio Ferdinand was dropped because Anton Ferdinand was racially abused by John Terry?

And that lack of acumen you've been deficient in.

Nope, along with the rest of the country nobody cared that Rio was dropped at the time. We all hated Terry but wanted him over duck face.

Some things don't need proof. Just a mutual understanding from blokes who are interested in football and generally understand unwritten reality. Whether the mutual understanding is liked or disliked is a different argument.

There's no proof to deny that was the reason, when it would be easier to prove it wasn't than was, if that was really the case.

How old are you? Are you naive enough to think that Roy Hodgson would come out and give that as an official reason?

And FFS choc ice is not racist to white people.

Even as a fellow United fan I have to correct you there Terry was found innocent in A court of law, only the FA's kangaroo court found him guilty.

The thing is that Terry and Ferdinand are two different types of centre half so any comparison between the two is flawed.

Terry is a typical old school centre half; the old blood-and-thunder style, throwing himself into tackles, bleeding for the cause and leading by a physical example. Ferdinand is more of a continental style defender with more of a calm, serene style and more of a sweeper type of centre half.

Ideally, you'd have one of each as your back four pairing; a lot of the top sides over the years have gone this way, more so after the advent of only playing one up front by some teams.

As regards Ferdinand's non-selection for the England team? Not going to be drawn into what seems a daft argument except to say this. If you ask yourself if Rio wasn't selected because of what went on between Anton and John Terry, then you have to admit that he wasn't really dropped for footballing reasons. By that phrase, it means to me that someone has lost form or fitness, not been sort of involved in a high-publicity race case with his brother and his international team mate.

At the end of the day, the whole kerfuffle was caused by the long delay between the "offence" and the court date, somewhere around nine months I think, with the Euros in between. That was the farcical side of all this and it should never have happened.
