BIG BREAKING NEWS FOR FOREST FANS
Simon Gillett has signed a two year deal withChampionship League One side Yeovil Town.
Great news, always impressed with him. Thought we had lost him because of his wage demands. Guess he wasn't being greedy, just that he's always a little short.
Good week actually as lazy st Ishmael Miller signed for someone else other than Yeovil. Phew, that was close for a moment.

Cox has signed for Reading according to the Nottingham Post
Fee "thought to be in excess of £500,000"
Never got the credit he deserved at Forest so many won't be sad to see him go.
ETA it's on the official site as well so must have happened.
When that boy first arrived at the club he had confidence coming out of every orifice. I remember him turning, dribbling and shooting from range looking like a league beater.Fee "thought to be in excess of £500,000"

What ever happened to that?

Billy Davies? What ever happened to that?
Billy's tactic - which was successful for much of last season - relied on the forwards running to wide areas to create space for the midfield to run through. That's why Reid, Lansbury etc scored so many goals. And it was successful. The trouble is many fans just see the "goals scored" column next to Cox, Henderson etc and bemoan the fact that we haven't got a "20 goal a season striker". We were never likely to have playing that formation.
When the bottom fell out of our world - with injuries to Reid, Vaughan, Lansbury, Cohen, Hobbs, etc, etc we went back to a more orthodox strike force / tactic but with strikers starved of service and low on confidence.
When you admire Cox's workrate (and Mackie's for that matter) people will say that workrate isn't going to get goals, or suggest we sign Mo Farah. But "workrate" doesn't do either player justice. They contribute(d) a tremendous amount for the team and in Cox's case sacrificed a higher goal tally for the good of the team for much of last season.
Cox's goal agains Birmingham City is rightly regarded as one of the goals of the season and shows a tremendous amount of skill, awareness and control, it also shows what he's capable of.

I saw something to the tune of "Agadoo" the other night..... or maybe it was the Macarena
Here's something about his departure from the Posh:https://audioboo.fm/boos/2379153-britt-assombalong...
Yep, great first half but died off after around 60 minutes, to be expected first game with fitness I suppose.
Should have been 4/5-0 really with how poor Blackpool were.
Assombolonga and Antonio impressed me, Burke shot was a pearler and you knew it was going in the moment it left his boot.
Fox also impressed at centre half, Lascelles who? I assume Danny will drop back into Left back when our first choice centre halves are fit again. So Danny Fox can replace Harding at left back, he is stealing a living for me at the minute. Definitely the weak link today unfortunately.
Good start to the season though and 3 points on the board.
Psychos welcome was brilliant!
Edit - I've got a video on my phone of Psychos entrance but this one is better!!

Can't remember last time I was so emotional at a game.
The teams coming out; the players being announced.... especially Cohen!; Loudest ever rendition of Mull of Kintyre; Psycho coming out.
The goal.
The next goal.
Cohen being substituted.
A great performance from Cohen, some blistering tackles; great play. Covered a lot of ground. He's been a bit of an inspiration and reassurance for me as I had the same surgery a week or so after he did and I've been itching to get back. Kind of put it into perspective when a professional footballer who has done nothing but rehab since November is only just back to playing again!
The team performance tailed off a bit 2nd due to tirednes but I think Blackpool went into humiliation avoidance too: always 9/10 behind the ball their only other tactic was to hassle us in our own half. But 2-0 is fine. Apparently we haven't beaten Blackpool at home since '77
Good performances from everyone in the team. Fox looks good at CB so can be called on, Hobbs is clearly close to being back aswell.
Everyone's assuming (correctly IMO) that Harding will be dropped, but will it be when Hobbs is fit and Fox moves to LB or will it be when Lansbury / Vaughan is fit and Cohen moves back there?
To be fair to him Harding did a brilliant volleyed cross in the second half, unfortunately no-one got on the end of it.
Although on the radio Pearce has repeatedly said he wants to win every game (ie won't pick a week team for the league cup tomorrow) I can see some players who are just coming back from injury being rested. The two newest signings can't have had much of a pre-season so they could be on the bench too.
