I’ve been thinking and saying that for years but it never seems to happen.
I went to my first home match in 1966 (we lost), over 50 years ago. In that time we’ve always had a ‘spiritual home’ about half way down the top tier. We’ve dropped into the second tier a few times over those years but recovered relatively quickly. We’ve also threatened the top teams once or twice but ended up with a nosebleed.
Will it really ever change for the better? I live in hope.

We have made some bad purchases of high salary players on longer contracts than their fitness records should have allowed, we need that lot out, we need fitter hungrier players in on lower salaries who will work for their money.
Much better in the second half but Hazard the difference again.
If he goes to RM at any point, it will be interesting to see what happens to Chelsea as I don’t think they are that good a side without him - I know that they are 3rd after that result but boy, do they rely on him heavily!
I can see them slipping out of the Europa League spots without him - he is that much of a match winner for them, time and time again.

Negatives: Cresswell had a shocker again, Rice for the first time I've seen was getting out muscled, Anderson continually gave the ball away, Lanzini's confidence is shot to pieces, Nasri getting injured in the warm up,wasn't sure what a difference Obiang for Noble would make, Chico just not the man to playas a lone striker, and it took Snoddy to come on and show what proper rather than half hearted pressing can do
Positives, Fab again ( other than one missed punch), Fredericks is getting better each game and growing in confidence, Arnie gave as much as anyone and was unlucky with his header, and as a team we were much better second half.
No complaints, both teams could have had a pen', and we were beaten by a player who's value in todays climate ( rather than with only a year on his contract) is probably more than our team last night put together.

That’s only right if you exclude Declan Rice’s value from our team. Having said that he didn’t have a great evening yesterday.sjc said:

I think you've summed that up pretty well. I hope Pelle has a clear out in the summer there are certainly some non-performers but I hope Anderson and Lanzini can get a partnership going. Certainly need someone stronger than Cresswell at left back and personally, I hope Arnautovic stays for another season and sorts his st out. I think Arnie has to go in the summer, if he does sort it out and has a good Aug-Dec no doubt we will end up in the same situation of his head turned come January. He is too easily distracted to be consistent and we should be looking at a £30m-£40m player to replace him and move him on. Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
