Maybe that was the precipice they had to stare into. If they 'd lost today there was no way in my mind they'd have made Top 4.

They were st for most of that....very lucky.

No, I couldn't care if we won the FA Cup final 10-0 I want him gone, I will never change my mind on that.

Luck was on our side today; performance was below par as usual and regardless of whether it is the semi final, Wigan are a Championship team and this game should have been dealt within the 90 mins. I still think Wenger isn't the man for the job unfortunately regardless of whether we win the Cup and finish in the top 4. 8 years without a Trophy is too long and its time for a change.

It was another pitiful performance wasn't it. Further proof he can't motivate a team, not even in an FA Cup Semi Final.

It was embarrassing to see the way the players celebrated the equaliser and the result. We played Wigan, a town better known for pies and Rugby FFS. Utterly humiliating to see the club reduced to celebrating in this way when they should have just applauded the fans and left the pitch ASAP.

Agree, not quite as embarrassing as the celebrations at the end of last season when we clinched the 4th place Trophy. Need to massively up our game for the final.

As I have said 100 times I will judge Wenger at the end of this summer. Then we'll know whether it's the board or Wenger that are responsible for the lack of investment in the team.

As for the current malaise....we're in a bad place but the team just looks totally out on it's feet. Arsenal's best and most energetic player today was injured for the first four months of the season...is that a coincidence? We've had the worst injury list in the PL for the entire season....that has to have an effect...clearly that doesn't suit your agenda but facts are facts.

You might want Wenger out but if it's the board that have been holding investment in the club back that won't change whoever is in charge.

Get a grip for fk sake, we've beaten Liverpool, Everton, Spurs and now the reigning champions to get to the final.

I was over the moon when Cazorla put that penalty away, why wouldn't the players?

Agreed, but you need to also factor in the league performances.... particularly the following.......

City - lost 6-3
Liverpool - Lost 5-1
Everton - Lost 3-0
United - Lost 1-0

Big deal we beat Wigan in the semi final of the FA Cup by the skin of our teeth. This should have been a 2-0 win and the game killed off after 70 mins.

I'd say that is a big deal. Couldn't care less what's happened before this game what's done is done.

Wigan are no pushovers, this team knocked out the best the prem has to offer.

100%.

Doesn't suit a few people though. People are so obsessed with "Wenger out" that they actually don't care about being one match from an FA Cup win. That''s just fking pathetic.

If you support a football club you want to see them win....end of.

Because I support the third most succesful club in the country and have ambition. What we have been reduced to is emabarasing.

I've perfectly got a grip on reality, it's a shame more haven't instead of going overboard about beating some miserable northern outpost of a football team.

God this thread can be depressing. It was a st performance but I for one was off my feet when that last pen went in, chuffed to bits. An FA Cup final in a few weeks to look forward too!

Wenger should still go IMO but how anyone can suggest that they would not mind losing in a cup semi to ensure that Wenger goes is a mentality that I'm thoroughly relieved I don't have.

Bring on the final, can't fking wait.

What? The holders and the team that beat Man City in the last round. Get a grip.

EDIT: Maybe we should leave this anyway - this thread will be a laughing stock if it descends into infighting half an hour after we've got in the FA cup final.

fk all to do with anything. I came on here to have a bit of banter with some Arsenal fans after an important win (and yes, a st performance), not to have an argument. Have a nice evening all, I'm off out for some live music and a beer or two. And I'll be in a good mood doing it.

Lets see what happens, it wouldn't surprise me if we won fk all this season and finished outside the top 4. There is no hunger or desire from Arsenal when they play; average at best. Granted Wigan knocked out City and they are the holders but it doesn't matter; the fact is they are a league below Arsenal and this game should have been a walkover. The Arsenal of 10 years ago would have absolutely humiliated the Wigan team today.

I think we will win the cup now, however in really it is papering over the cracks. At the very least the monkey would be off our backs.
