I cant work out if people are being sarcastic about Alli or not?

Sure he shouldn't have raised a finger, but come on? Anyone here ever played football and not called the ref every name under the sun?! Yes, I know he's on TV, but swearing is hardly the end of the world.

Classic English media... try and ruin one of our best players. Daft s.
Everything that’s wrong with football in one post.
Go on then, what's wrong with that?

If you feel you've been wronged by a ref it's hard not to show frustration, especially if you're not having the best game to begin with.
Just been trying to have a look online and there is nothing clear cut to show he delibratly swore at the Ref, and has already come out and said it was towards Walker and has come out and posted this on twitter https://twitter.com/kylewalker2/status/90500123883... so you wonder if Alli was right.

Im no Spud but some of the posters on here have gone a little OTT on this. laugh

Qualify for the world cup? Dream on. We will be kicked out for Dele Alli's despicable behaviour. How anyone could give another human being the middle finger is beyond me. It's vile.

PC carries some clout these days, I think I almost heard a player blaspheming on tv also. Not sure if I should report ala Golf ??

One thing's for sure, he shouldn't be playing football ever again. I'd say, stadium ban for life, 100 hours community service and a short, maybe two month, prison sentence.

England struggle to break defensive teams down because they don't have many good players. No great mystery to it.

Slovakia would get relegated from the PL.

England would struggle to make mid-table.
Nah...if you had that team and they were together like a normal club side they'd be competing for the Top 4. It's the fact you're putting together a scratch side together every few months and hoping you can get them to play in the same way while they all play completely different formations and styles at club level.

Very true, it's easy to say when the only experience of football you have is fifa or footy manager!

I scream and shout every time I cock up. As you can imagine, i'm very sore five minutes in haha!!

Hoofing-up a cartwheeling phlegmball on live telly is also compulsory behaviour for a football pro.

I'm sure the international wind-up merchants will be adding Ali to their list of bombheads likely to 'go'.
Its very boring

It all to do with which clubs players play for - then if its not 'their' own lets call them out -- st, idiot you name it whilst the ones at their clubs at the 'best' etc etc rinse and repeat - very very dull chums
I may be due a woosh parrot but I read swisstoni's post as referring to certain footballers in international teams who like to wind up the opposition players who will be adding Alli to their list of players who are easy to wind up. Nothing to do with people posting to PH.
That's what I thought, 48K. You could create your own list, Sergio Ramos would be at the top of mine...

A good point, but I am still not sure.

Hart is properly bad; Henderson is not a top 4 player (not by a million miles); Dier is probably not good enough either; Ox is certainly not a top 4 player, etc.

I would say, though, that Kane/Rashford/Alli is a good enough front 3!

Footballers being dumb is given
effing and blinding to the ref is horrible, but unless football authorities grow a pair it will continue (unlike rugby)
sticking a finger up in a televised international is cretinous in the extreme

Can't agree.

His antics are what gives Alli his 'edge'.

U21 and U20 have certainly looked promising. Issue is they wont get games for their parent clubs, end of going to lesser teams in the championship and never get picked for England.

It's embarrassing.

Shouting/Swearing at the ref or general abuse should be a free-kick and a minimum yellow in the first instance. Physically touching the ref. is a straight red without any question. All of these should be backed up by sanctions in terms of bans and fines.

It's a disgrace and needs to be addressed ASAP.

And no, I'm not joking.

Have you seen a games of kids soccer recently? Parents going mad at the ref., kids diving, cheating and swearing at each other and the ref. Seriously, chuck them off.

Players and clubs should be under pressure to raise the game.
