apparently Ozil and Sanchez want over £350k a week to stay at Arsenal
insane, but the money is there in football now, so they will probably get it

I read Arsenal had offered 250/week which seems more than reasonable (Sanchez) and bloody generous (Ozil)

But it's the same for all! Every club will have that set of line items in it. It is the wage bill for running the club. Some might pay Doris the tea lady more than others, some might pay the directors...but it's the only like for like without having a complete guess on player salaries.
agree - its the only published like for like

what I am saying is it is a useless comparison, without stripping out one-offs and allowing for entity structural differences

In the last set of accounts Liverpool also had 12 million plus for Rodgers and team.

Whatever it is we have never been shy when it comes to wages.

£43 million for salah seems a bit steep! He hasn't done anything of note and he wasn't exactly effective when he played for Chelsea.
that's mental money.

How does that sound more reasonable than the official report and accounts published by clubs?? All that site has done is had a guess based on stuff in newspapers!
more reasonable as a gauge of what players are getting paid

accounts show what is expensed / not correctly accrued for that legal entity and may include one offs and may not be comparable (eg some entities could include staff of holding company or other commercial activities v some purely the football team and coaching staff)

If it's a cost of all staff within LFC then we'll also have offices, shops and academies around the World which most other clubs don't have.

City, united, Chelsea etc won't have similar?? I'd be very surprised. And let's be honest, those things aren't moving the needle on the dial when it comes to wages now are they?

Given the ridiculous bonuses you pay out to players its hardly surprising.

The balotelli one was my favourite. £1m if he doesn't get sent of 3 times in a season. laugh

Meaning he can get sent of twice (missing 7 further games) and still get his £1m, laugh who one earth agreed that? wobble

possibly not no, all those costs may be held in Mansour Holdings Ltd not in Manchester City Football Club Ltd

They may be in Fenway Sports Group not Liverpool Football Club FC Ltd

I'd be happy with Salah at 40 million. We'd sell Lazer for around 10 anyway. So 30 million new money and an immediate first 11 player.

Salah Firmino Mane
Coutinho/Lallana/Wijnaldum
Henderson/Can/Milner

It's starting to take shape isn't it. Add a quality striker that means Firmino can also cover across any of the front 3 positions and we start to have some genuine depth in our midfield and attack.

And? They don't make their own demands, is all I was saying. Don't suppose they even know how to buy a pint of milk...

Yeah, very generous. I suspect they'd want to go to CL clubs though - the amounts asked might just be a "we don't want to be here anymore so let us move our players on" thing

Everyone was saying the same about Mane last year and he was roughly the same price.

15 league goals and 11 assists from a winger is an amazing return, in what is still an 'A' league.

Even so, given a choice between him and Mahrez, I'd choose Mahrez. But I guess Salah is still the right side of 25, whereas Mahrez isn't for ROI purposes.

at least Mahrez has premier league experience and sometimes I think ROI has be disregarded for the right player

And that is exactly why I'd choose Mahrez over Sallah - purely as he is proven in the PL. But I think FSG are still following the 24 years and under policy...

Either would improve us. And Salah would have had time to reflect on his short time here.

Hopefully its completed without our usual drama.
