one season wonder and Salah is better though remember
I said when he signed his new contract the other week that he's the best center forward in the world, many mocked he's proving me right with every passing game. At Spurs he gets the ball in great situations to get shots off. He's barely received a pass from Lingard, Alli or Raheem in the final third all tournament.
His hold up play and bringing others in has been top quality and he has been fouled for all of the penalties he's scored (no clue what's going on with that one either...it's not like he's prolific from corners or anything, so why bother fouling him!).

Remember how Kane raised a few eyebrows when he said Cristiano Ronaldo had put pressure on him for the Golden Boot by scoring a hat-trick against Spain?
That was said when Ronnie had scored 3 goals in 1 game.
Now, Ronaldo has scored 4 in 4 games whilst Kane has scored 6 in 3 games - I don't know why I ever doubted him.

Lucky the guys kept a level head in that shootout unlike Henderson. Classic Victimpool not content with spurs being bottlers they try to claw that off us too. Sheesh.
shame we can't even avoid the club unpleasantness when supporting EnglandHenderson pen was technically a lot better than Dier's yet he is a bottler and Dier a hero - yeah ok
Kane was brilliant though as was Trippier (bar the goal) and Maguire

Err no, Henderson's penalty wasn't better, it was hit a bit harder but it was at exactly the right height to be saved and he telegraphed where he was going to put it. I knew where he was going to shoot as soon as he started his run up and I'm not even a professional goalkeeper. Yes Dier's was straight down the middle and not as hard but he stepped in at the last minute when Vardy got injured, his penalty kick was literally the match deciding kick so a lot more pressure and for all that, it was on the deck, fooled the keeper and went in.
Henderson was decent during the match but took a crap penalty, Dier was crap during the match but scored the winning penalty, no club bias, just the truth.
PS 3 out of the 5 penalty takers where Spurs players

We can argue the toss. saying Hendo's penalty was crap is harsh IMHO - it was an excellent save, had he been as good for Dier's which he got his fingers too we wouldn't be debating. Agreed Hendo was decent during game (stupid pushing back against Colombian head aside) and Dier was crap, and that Dier showed great mental strength to step up in Vardy's place and for such an important kick, fullcredit to him there.

I wondered why my knuckles were so sore! Hope you get your gearbox sorted ok Seriously, though, it's a bit of light hearted, tongue in cheek humour. It might not be to your taste, which is fine, just ignore it (like everyone else did )

As for the pens, im not going to criticize either, miss or goal at least they had the balls to step up.
True that. Does anyone know why Vardy didn't take one? Genuine question before anyone takes offence!Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
