I'd agree that Giroud's had a decent season, injuries have been our undoing in midfield but we've been incredibly lucky he didn't get injured. People saying we should out Giroud and keep Sanogo as a back up to a new striker need their heads examined.
We need Giroud AND another quality striker, with Sanogo as back up to either.Or punt Sanogo out on a loaner for a season to get some competitive match time and see if he does have what it takes, and get in an experienced back up for Giroud and AN Other.
I'd like to know what Podders strike rate per minutes played is this season compared to Giroud, as with what appears to be little game time until recent weeks he's still our 3rd highest scoring player!!
Sanogo is a bit of an Enigma like Park. Not sure what he brings to the team but Arsne must see promise in him playing againts Bayern and Liverpool when it matters. Baffles me though.
If he's just a prospect then I have to say that Akpom looks like a better one. He just hasn't showed anything that makes me think he's a bit special. Quite the opposite in fact. Prepared to not right him off yet but he shouldn't be getting anywhere near our 1st team at the moment.

Agree with all that...I'd like to see Poldi stay and maybe play in some kind of 4-4-2 formation with Giroud when they are trying to mix things up. I think they'd play well together though we'd need more power in midfield. That's not saying we don't need a WC striker in addition. Sonogo definitely needs game time....thing is I think that means a championship side at best.

Don't choke on your chicken Bloo! I see what passes for success at Woolwich has come to pass once again. At least there's plenty of space in the cabinet for the fourth place cup as ever! I've said it before round here, what I LOVE about the gooners is the delusion. Us Spuds, we know we're rubbish, but the Goons, well, you think you're good. Congratulations on your forthcoming part in the ECL crowd scenes. Long live Wenger!!
Yes, for us it's below the standards we set ourselves. I know this much though, that shambles up the seven sisters road would love to acheive what we have done over the last 18 years.
So, yeah we'll take being involved in the crowd scenes. At least we've got a ticket!

How about Balotelli ? Obviously he's got "issues" but so did Suarez a year ago and I am not sure you can judge any player on how they played for Mankini.
Whoever it is I want them early. Look at the league table now and think about the three points tossed away against Villa on the first day of the season.

Cavani is reported to be unhappy being played wide at PSG -worth a punt
Plenty of Serbs and Croats that would be better than Sanogo. Also Bayern expected to offload either Manzukic or Goetze. The ultimate back up/ 70min intro player would be David Villa

I've seen enough debuts in the last 45 years to know that Sanogo is never going to cut it. More Raphael Meade than Anelka. Nowhere near the touch or vision Kennedy and George had at 19. File under Jay Bothroyd (and he was better!)
I couldn't agree more - Sanogo brings absolutely nothing to the team as far as I can see - he has limited pace, little strength/physical presence, a poor touch, suspect skill, his decision making is naive at best, and he's not even good in the air for his height. How he gets even close to being in the first team is way, way beyond me.Oh, and a final word to the tube boys and their distant cousins at First 'Great' Anglia - fk you both! Got home at half-past midnight on Monday instead of a more normal 11pm. Incompetent morons.

Higuain playing infront of Ozil.....wouldn't that be a treat.

In all honesty, if we brought in; Remy, Higuain, Richards & Barry I'd consider that a great transfer window. Richards is out of contract this summer I believe? As is Barry (he's been outstanding this season) so they could come on a free. I reckon we could get Remy for about £8m, this means we'd have to break the bank somewhat again to get Higuian, possibly £35-40m again.

Whilst I agree on Sanogo, he's young and is still adjusting to the players around him as well as the system/what Wenger wants from him; it's his first season and he hasn't had much of a run.
