With Naby there is quite obviously a very good player in there, but he needs time to adjust, the prem is a very difficult league.

He signed a 5 year deal not a 5 month one.

Imagine if Henry and Drogba weren't given time? Neither exactly set the world alight in their first season.

Not saying Naby will become a world beater, but he deserves at least until this time next year before he's judged imo.

I agree.
However I had high hopes so it's understandable to be disappointed.

He says that Keita "is in danger" of disappearing without trace, not that he is going to do so.

It's difficult to argue with that on the evidence of this season.

I think he will come good myself, but there is no doubt he is in danger of missing the boat, especially if AOC comes back this season.
Disagree but thats football , its based on opinions, he will have another full season and start a fresh come next year, there is still a lot of games this year, we wont really see much of AOC this year, he will be used super sparingly. JK has already come out and said what I am seeing in training is the polar opposite to games so something is not quite happening for him, very much doubt when they have scouted him for so long and he rates him so highly he is going to give up on him in his 1st season after injuries, not playing regularly in his proper position, learning a new language, learning a new league. Some fans are more patient than others, was not so long ago everyone was writing off Fabinho too, before that OX and so on.

Have there been rumours about a possible return date for him? Not seen anything ...

He is doing a little bit of training with the ball but they will do anything but rush him after that injury ., i imagine the aim will be to get him 100% fit ready to start next season.

He's back in training and kicking a ball, but not back with the squad.
From what I can see he still has a bit of a way to go but could be available for the run in.

No idea if he will be risked or not.

Yep, me too, I'd seen him play a little bit before he came and was hoping he'd hit the ground running, in reality that was unlikely to happen, but hopefully he can have a stronger second half of the season and put in a few good performances.

I would imagine the scouting team and JK are too, but no one can predict how quick it will take someone to adapt. The injury without doubt set him back he was doing better then before that and like ive said its hard for him constantly been moved around the midfield but I can understand atm why its being done as we cant afford not too.

Well, let's start with your wkfodder Keita. He's in danger of sinking without a trace if he can't be helped to turn things around. It's early days and he's a relatively young man so time is on his side but he should at least be applying himself and showing desire and motivation. Shaqiri went missing and Origi's first half was at best lethargic, though he did change for the second.

Shaqiri's performance was merely a proof of theory. He switches off and it's been seen and commented on before. He, Keita and Origi wasted a golden opportunity to shine. Keita and Shaqiri have, based on previous performance, enough capability to impose themselves on a game like that and dictate play - for whatever reason they didn't.
Sorry I must have misinterpreted - you said 'didn't want to play' not 'didn't play well' I thought I had missed something
There was a step change in Shaqiri's work rate in the last 20 minutes. He didn't see it as worth his time before that. As above, it's been seen before. That's a choice IMO. Keita also has a decision to make about his input to games. He chose to be peripheral (something he did in the latter parts of his RB career, too). You can see that in people at times in all walks of life - it's not exclusive to this pair.

CBA going over the whole Keita thing done it too death, if you think he is going to sink without a trace that's fine, I have this little feeling though JK will give him a little more time than you. (its almost like you want him to fail so you can carry on this internet thing you have with me, why not just give him time, like City did with Bernardo Silva) ?
I said there's a danger of it. I also said it's early days, he's young and capable. In that respect, perhaps you do have a comprehension issue. FWIW he has more chance of succeeding at LFC with Klopp then he would have almost anywhere else. Thus far the price tag, which isn't his fault, seems toppy but if he reaches his potential then that also changes to be favourable. There are reasons why Barca and Bayern were also in the hunt.

With respect to the latter part of that. First you accuse me of being obsessed, which I skipped over, and now I have an "internet thing" with you. Just to draw a line under that: Trust me, neither are true. If you post st, which you do, with pride, a lot, then people are going to tell you that. It doesn't make it an obsession. Example: You post something you've made up in support of a position in a debate. Someone posts actual facts which contradict (correct) you. Your response to that is that they're obsessed or have a thing, which rather fails to address the subject at hand. Maybe it's a defence mechanism of yours but it's not my issue. If you don't like it then don't make stuff up, or post inaccuracies and state them as fact, and posts correcting you will stop appearing. Your various bold predictions liberally sprinkled throughout the thread can be judged on their own merits.

Differing opinions are just that. Everyone has those.

Regarding Keita, I think he is and we are lucky to be blessed with one too many midfielders at present, which means we are able to carry him this season. I imagine next Lallana will be moved on and Milner's contract is running down and unless I have missed something he hasn't yet been offered a new one. Next season, Keita will have to step up especially with AOC coming back and I imagine Klopp will be in the market for a new Fekir-type player.

TAA out for 4 weeks.

If Milner gets an injury now I'm going to hide under my bed until this is all over.

Questions need to be asked internally whether it was right to start Trent against Brighton after injuring himself in the warm-up. Playing 90 mins must have surely aggravated it further? He was clearly uncomfortable after 10 mins.

FFS. So now our first choice defence has a midfielder and teenager who hasn't played a PL game? Let alone options for rotation or another injury...

I'll likely be visiting Anfield at the end of the month. Maybe should look out my old boots from school, might be at that point given the current rate of attrition.

Did City begin to tire at the end of last season? I genuinely can't remember.

The second half of their season wasn't as strong as the first, which was exceptional. Couple of losses and draws but the wheels hardly came off. They beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs in March/April.

It would never enter his mind JK is not stupid - he is not going to let a player go unless he feels the players he has can cope

We have the following he feels can play RB ample enough

FABINHO (MATIP IS NOW FIT AND RB WAS HIS NATURAL POSITION)
GOMEZ (BACK IN 2 WEEKS)
CAMACHO (RATES VERY VERY HIGHLY, AS WE DID WITH TRENT WHEN HE WAS A TEENAGER AND PUT IN AT RB)
HOEVER (ANOTHER MASSIVELY RATED WHO SHOULD HE CAN COPE THE OTHER NIGHT)
MILNER (CAN COVER ANYWHERE DM,LB,RB)

After this wknds game we have 11 days between the next game too.
