Another season with no trophy. Improvement on last season though. Should have done better in the cups.
I think it is fair to say in the Cup’s we could have done better but it is needs must when it comes to squad management. Villa game was in the middle of the Bayern games. Squad can’t cope with those game.

Saliba played every minute of every PL game and plenty more were right up there in minutes this season (e.g. Rice, Saka and Odegaard). Man City players nowhere to be seen in that league table.

I guess we need to ultimately get to a stage where we have 18 to 20 players who are all good enough to be in the starting XI every week but get rested/rotated as needed.

Elneny, Nketiah, Nelson, Cedric are all leaving I imagine and then we have Vieira and ESR. The first four need to be replaced with a couple of high quality players.
Yep, need even more quality players if we're going to win anything. Need two quality squads to compete in all competitions.....and some luck.

That's why Citeh win all the time; not because Pep is a tactical genius but because they are the only team who can afford to have 2 quality first elevens. Anything can happen in a cup game but over the course of a season, it's strength in depth that wins.

Wrighty is as golden as the Invincibles Premier League trophy.

Interesting Times article in relation to how we are performing in line with the money we've spent, for anyone that's interested.

Well after watching the FA Cup final despite it being a lose-lose outcome, wiping away the vomit and taking relief in that we dodged the Community Shield (if Citeh won we would have played them 10th August) as we have at least 2 more chumps league games next season with the new 8 game v 8 team league initial stages format, thoughts turn to the goings and potential/ endless speculation of in comings...

Fortunately these lot have had first stab https://dailycannon.com/2024/05/arsenal-transfer-n...

Although already Ramsdale has apparently ruled out going to a Premier league rival so could help with some European deals perhaps... They seems to (like Arteta) forgotten that we have a number of benchwarmers who are likely to add to the departures of Elneny and "the photobomb" that is Cedric e.g. Nketamine, Vieira, ESR etc.

In terms of loanees, interesting on Marquinhos, as I've previously questioned his loan being permanent, "it's complex apparently". Others loanees scattered around EPL and Europe, none of which appears to have impressed their hosts much and will be winging their way on to the market, I mean home at the end of the month....or not extending contracts such as Okonowo who's hoping to carry on with Wexham.

Incomings, tbh we're linked with everyone and despite all the comms someone has put a defib on the Mbappe deal ffs, I tend to give up on expecting anything until the photo of them being strong armed by Edu and Arteta at that mahogany desk, rather than wearing a shirt and declaring undying love for us...yes Muddydik I'm looking at you.

Anyway Raya can now polish his golden gloves, and Kane can polish his Buggeredup League cannon scorer trophy, the effort of lifting said trophy appears to have done his back in...

From the pics I won't be purchasing any of the new kits (never thought I'd miss the Yellow Scribble shirts and the move back to black doesn't bode well for our away form...), probably just as well given the cost of the season ticket renewal I'll be staying in the cupboard until 17/18th August with a brief check of fixtures released on the 18th June...

At least some of the Euros will be on free TV... *yay*

When you think about it, mbappe is on a free isn’t he? So we could break the wage structure by using the Raya money to pay Mbappes wages with no transfer fee.

Great player, seems a bit of dick, not sure Arteta would put up with his ego or we could afform the salary that was being talked about! He said England was too cold, not had a heatwave to persuade him...
