Your making excuses I'm afraid. Poch couldn't have made it any clearer

What Poch said was he wanted the club/Levy to be brave in the transfer market - I can't remember anything more. That covers a myriad of events.

Not signing anyone is pretty brave.

You spelt stupid wrong old chap.

We will sign someone but it'll be a token gesture now.

Anyway we still have a pretty good team and the best striker in the league we will be there or there abouts top 4 but we certainly won't be challenging for the league.

As far as I can tell you have a shiny new spectacular stadium. Which needs paying for. How is that being financed?

Will it impact your player purchasing power or is it financed separately via some Levy hoodwinkery? Because if the former, like the Gooners and the Emirates when it was built you'll just have to suck it up for a few years right?

Anyway, Poch seems to be punching above his weight so even without spending you'll probably be able to stay there or thereabouts. There just won't be much need for the trophy shelf...

Surely the club will be paying it back though, won't they?

As I understand it there is £350million of finance from HSBC and BoA, and a cash injection of £50million from Joe Lewis. The loan will obviously have repayments to make but I daresay that will get refinanced, the 50 mil from JL is interest free that will probably get converted to equity at some point.

This must be the third or fourth transfer window where questions have been asked about the stadium costs impacting transfers and the club have been adamant that transfer budget is separate to the stadium finance and the manager will be supported if he identifies a player he wants to bring in. So I guess we'll just have to take them at their word.

We haven't spent any money for 10 years so that excuse doesn't wash either

Word has it that Grealish and Zaha are still on the cards. Great to see that we're getting our work done early and reliably.

Lewis Cook would be a pretty good target for an area that we strengthening in.

Funny thing our best player of pre season has been a 17 year old Cm/Am
Curtis Jones
I hope he makes it into the starting team this year. Always good to see.

It's been a fking disaster and not pochs fault is bloody levy and his ego!!
Poch makes a bold statement, basically saying exactly what Spurs fans have been thinking for years and hinting that if the right things aren't done, his future at Spurs might be in doubt. Very soon afterwards he signs a new 5 year contract which to many fans sends out a message that Levy has agreed with Poch's statement and this transfer window will be different.

You can't build expectation up like that then spectacularly fail to deliver, I know so MANY fans who are pissed off about this now including me. I'm running out of excuses to make to all of my other club supporting friends. So either Poch was talking bks all along to get a pay rise or Levy has reneged on whatever he promised Poch leaving the fans high and dry. Recent reports that Poch's initial statement had been "misinterpreted" are just farcical attempts at arse covering because they know they've screwed up, fking disaster is right!
Agree 100% poch and the fans have been stiched up by levy. No excuses he's failed miserably.

What he does well he does really well like the stadium what he does bad though he does spectacularly bad. He needs and deserves to be called out for it. Got away with it for to long
I'd have to somewhat agree. Given your net spends over these past number of seasons, player salary supposed to be low, high ticket prices, doing well in PL so higher income etc then it seems like there is a lot of money that has gone somewhere when you compare to similar clubs. Is it the stadium, is it to Levy, is it to the club savings account?

However when it comes to it then the important thing is how you do this season. If you win something/ do really well in the PL probably the lack (if it is that way when the window closes) of new signings will be forgotten. If you start falling away there will be a lot of questions for Levy.

I think we're all just bored and haven't been able to switch it off between seasons due to the world cup.

I still feel that we make more poor signings than good ones.

Like I said, we're not at the end of the window yet - and we all know Levy does all of his work on deadline day smile
