Like I said, we're not at the end of the window yet - and we all know Levy does all of his work on deadline day
I bet Poch is fking ecstatic about that LoonyTunes said:
Well getting them in early guarantees you absolutely nothing - as you may well live to discover this season.
I think we all know all managers would want players in pre season, to train them to there style of play and get their fitness to the required level of a pressing team.. could take 4-8 weeks after, a lot of training will be rest days and match prep when the season starts...m3sye said:
If you guys are happy with last day ahead of pre season who am I to argue... I'm sure that's what Poch told Levy to do,
Tell you what though (in the words of Big Ron), if Spurs achieve this season after what can be described as a quiet period in the market for them, it's a big two fingers to the idea that only money will allow you to progress. This season is going to either be absolutely amazing or a complete drag from beginning to end. Amazing is my wish.....I do get confused with fans at times.
The last couple of months I've read loads about English players and young players needing a chance from their clubs. Fast forward a few weeks and then it's pissing and moaning that another foreigner hasn't been signed.
The pre-season tour has give a load of the better kids a chance to impress. I'd rather see them come through then take a gamble on an expensive foreign signing.

Huge pressure on Klopp to win his first trophy as Liverpool manager now. And I know Pochettino is a great coach, but how long will you give him to get some silverware? Surely it has to be soon?
We've a great team and vibe now, will we win something? who knows! But we'll play great football .London424 said:

I would absolutely love for this to happen but will it though? Yes we have some decent talent coming through but its a long treacherous path from youth wonder kid to first team player and 99% of players don't actually make it. Even if they did we have none that are ready right now and the earliest we are looking at a few of them starting to get into the first team on a regular basis is still a season or two away and that's not even accounting for Poch's very risk averse, slow and steady approach to player introduction. Can we really afford to sit still and wait 2 more years for our home grown talent to mature? I don't think so.
Yep there are still some very large untapped markets. For instance football is still in it's relative infancy in the US and China, two of the biggest markets in the world but growing all the time and we haven't even mentioned any of the other emerging markets. For good or ill, LOTS more money to come I'm afraid.
